I noticed he was struggling with cramp from about 20 minutes to go, Ronny won't be happy. He must not be used to playing as much as he is now, probably his 3rd/4th game in 2 weeks - at Man City he was only playing that much every 2 month

Agree about starting Stokes, thought Armstrong was our best attacking player and he basically played how Stokes usually does, running at players and passing and moving into space to get in behind. Would start Griffiths too as his pace will be better for the counter as they'll open up a bit. GMS, Izaguirre and Ciftci will probably play instead of Mulgrew, Stokes and Griffiths though.

Thought we were very stiff and slow last night.... but i'm not worried in the slightest.

I think we'll take 3 or 4 off them in Iceland. They're no threat to us, but we'll need to step up a few gears for the next couple of rounds!

 

Are there any post match interviews from Ronny or a player kicking around ?

 

On Celtic TV theres ones of Ronny, Boyata and Armstrong.

Ronny just says 2-0 a good win and comfortable. Said they defended with 10 men and it was hard from us. Said Boyata played very well and Ciftci done well but need more training and games. Said Leigh Griffiths should be taking penalties and should be the last time we see arguing over a penalty. GMS had a stiff groin.

He also joked that Boyata had cramp has "he hasnt played matches for.... eh, 5 years" :smiley-laughing002:

Armstrong says it was a good game, we had a lot of possession but they defended well. Good to get in a win but could have had another few goals. 2-0 gives us comfort for over there but we're looking for the same result again.

Boyata says he feels tired after the game but happy to win. Was good to score on his debut, we managed to score 2 goals should have been more but still need to concentrate as anything can happen. Says he wasnt happy about getting cramp and the manager was right joking because he hadnt played much in the last 5 years. Says he hopes to get fully fit as soon as possible. Playing away games are difficult but we have good quality and want to go away and do the same. Also says he knows their keeper as they played in the Reserves together and he had a good game. He says he was disappointed to come off with cramp and even if he scored 10 goals he'd still be disappointed to come off with it again lol

“2-0 is a good result but I hoped we could finish them off. We had chances to win more but we were not effective enough.


"In the end, I’m a little bit disappointed that we didn’t score more. But it’s good we have a clean sheet and two goals to go on."

Last three years I didn’t score many goals. I scored one at City and one at Bolton and now with Celtic.
