Decent game. Lots to work on as the season progresses, but some of the play in the second half especially was really good. I think that will be a feature of the season, once our fitness starts to tell we will get on top of teams.

The good thing tonight is that players you expect better from never really perfomed tonight. Bitton and Johansen were wasteful. When they start playing then things are going to get a whole lot better.

 

We shouldn't be disappointed because 2-0 is a good result considering results elsewhere, and their record from last year, and that they packed their box with ten men most of the time.

But we will need to up the ante, as there are some good teams who are further in their season than us, just up ahead.

 

Anyone else getting annoyed with Izzy * does my head in with his crosses out for a goal kick

Izzy is a good modern LB. Replacing him will be difficult. I'm happy to have him.

There must be someone we can bring in to spur him on, give him healthy competition. I'm not saying he's completely gash or get rid of him, but I do feel he's a liability and going forward he's not nearly as good as a couple of years ago..
His crossing, pace, ability to beat a man, have all regressed and defensively he makes strange blunders and gets caught out time and again..

It was 40K, certainly not 48 but still a great turnout. Fair play to the lads coming over from Iceland, just as many away fans as you'd get from half the Premiership teams at Celtic Park.

Some * really need to get a grip. We are 2-0 up after our first competitive game of the season. Our place in the next round isn't in doubt now.
