Maybe stick with the 4-3-3 i would play

    Boruc
    Hinkel Caldwell Mcmanus Naylor
    Naka Crosas Flood
    Hutchinson Samaras McDonald

Surely we can at least score a few against St Mirren but then again they will shut up shop for 90 mins.

Had a really vivid dream last night!

With the score 3-0 Celtic for some reason standing out! I also remember one of the goals!

Long ball deep from the right (possibly Naka or Hinkel), Skippy makes the header at the far end of the box - knocking it back towards the right hand side of goal where Sammy volleys/half-volleys it screaming into the net. :86:

Here's a highly experimental formation. If WGS had the balls, I think this team would run riot. It's best described as a 2-1-1-4-2

    ...........................Boruc
    ............Loovens............ McManus
    .......................Caldwell(Sweeper)
    .......................Crosas(Holding/Distributive mildfielder)
    .......McGeady....Nakamura...Brown....Mizuno/Robson(When fit)
    .........................McDonald....Maloney/Sammy/Voh(Depending on Form)

Yeah it looks a bit dodgy, but let me explain... Loovens and McManus would hold the same roles as they do now, with Caldwell given free reign in front of them to stop oncoming attacks. Crosas's roll would be similar to Caldwell's, only he's given freedom to go further up the park.
The next four, Mcgeady, Naka, Brown, and say Mizuno, are all given a free pass to do what they want. I see them working closely together, stringing passes together, unwinding defenses. McDonald and his partner would play as traditional strikers.

This formation could destroy anything in the SPL if the team had enough confidence in themselves.

Certainly playable in SPL, and it would surprise the opposition, but of course, WGS is too conservative for this. I would like to see us play a sweeper, in our current formation. Defense would improve. Caldwell fits the position.

Crosas and Mizuno should play for me instead of Caldwell and McGeady in the midfield with Broony and Naka in with them and id put Caldwell back at CB..that Loovens is muck..Like to see JVoH and Sammy start together for this one.

Think this is a good chance to get the confidence players firing again - Sammy and McGeady.

    ....................Crosas.........Brown.........................
    .......................................................................
    Naylor...........Mick..............Caldwell........Hinkel......
    ...........................Boruc.....................................

If we go 2 up would also like to see JVoH involved and then maybe Flood to consolidate the midfield. If we have to chase the game I'd like to see a 4-3-3 / 4-2-4 - Would require a high defensive line though and hopefully won't come to this:

    .....^.....McDonald....JVoH....Sammy
    McGeady...................................
    .....^........................................
    ............Brown.......Nakamura.......
    ...............................................

That is indeed our strongest team available on Saturday. I would play that lineup and keep playing it till the end of the season (except Maloney for McGeady when he is fit). We need to get a settled team and one that features most of our creative and high energy players.

Loovens made one mistake but otherwise played excellently. Both WGS and Lenny commented on the CBs playing well. Even at the goal, it was a soft freekick and if you watch carefully Loovens view is blocked until suddenly the ball came past the playerin front of him. Loovens strolled most of the game and looked a lot more confortable than Mick usually does. Shame we have not seen a Caldwell-Loovens partnership for any length of time.

well, its my birthday tommorrow, so hopefully the bhoys can give me a nice present (in the form of 3 points) and the huns slip against Hamilton giving us the vital top of the table position...
