when you have nothing in front of you to beat you can go forth, I would say tonight ST Johnstone where not the same team, that we played before they where crap, and I think they got there tactics wrong for what I seen, they played a lot better when they brought on the ball players, would you not agree, we made a few subs again i am disappointed in as they never made it a lot more goals why, I cant under stand this, we will never find out who our best 11 are, if they get the chance to come on and don't increase the goal tally. the question you ask about Brown
WAS HE A HELP, not really as I have said who where we up against, if you want me to give him a pass mark he would get a 6 out of 10 but there would be at least 5 more players pick up 7-8 points in there play above him. no one got a nine, from me or a ten, glad there was not a banana skin out there, so well done Celtic.:celt_2:

Can you take it one step further and discuss without attacking the poster and debate his view ?

How a man like Brown can get critisim when every time he pulls on a jersey and works through a pain barrier and puts in countless shifts and magnificent performances is beyond me.

He leads by example and should be commended on it.

By far are most consistant performer this season, Leading by example !

    Brown is amazing.
I honestly don't know the last time he started, with the obvious and understandable exception of Barca, where we lost the game???

It's like England years ago with Heskey. Everyone knows he's *, and falls over more times than he hits arses with banjos, yet when he played I think statistically England did 100% better or something.

Brown is the most important Celtic player now, even though he's not the best overall - or even the best midfielder. It's weird, but he's vital.

Brown is an excellent captain when he doesnt play you can see the team lacks his leadership. He definitely makes a huge difference to the team when he plays thats for sure.....

This!! Its no coincidence we win more games when Broony is playing. He is the difference between what we saw tonight and what we saw on Saturday.... a win or a loss!

We started winning again when he came into the team last season and the season before.

The first name on the teamsheet by miles. If you cant see how vital Broony is then you are mostly likely to be a * :50:

I think it's because we have such a young squad, even including Lenny and the backroom staff, and they need someone to look up to and respect. Broony is one of the only ones who has "been there done that", i.e. won league titles before, played in Champs League and that, so they all really respect him in the dressing room and it shows.

He is a true leader and almost subconsciously the rest of the bhoys play better when he is on the park.

Very true, was it not Matthews who said the Celtic players give 110% when Brown's on rather than their usual perceived 100%? By no means is he the most technically skilled player on our team, in fact far from it, but he is so important. Love what he brings to us :50:

Its his personality too! The joker type. The one that gets the morale up.

I'll never forget his performances against the huns at parkhead last season. He was absolute machine!!

This is just a Broony appreciation thread now....

    * it...

See, people say this sort of thing on here a lot - but it's a myth.

Brown started in the Barca game and we lost.

And the last game we lost before that? St Johnstone. Brown started that one as well.

And the last three competitive games we lost before that one? Brown started all of them.

So this thing about "we don't lose when Brown plays" is actually bollocks. Its foundation in fact is, like, zero.

Not that that will prevent people like Metrobhoy (no offence to him :icon_mrgreen:) continuing to trot this out as if it were an established truth - rather than an established falsehood. Which it, like, is.
    I'll stop now. :smiley-laughing002:
