    I'm not picky.
I'm actually still buzzing about the result AND the performance of the players. I'm gonna watch it again as I missed the first 35 mins, but it deserves to be watched again anyway :icon_mrgreen: Incredible comeback, albeit for a couple of nervy moments (especially when Forster yet AGAIN never came for an easy ball from one of their thrown-ins) but the team deserved it.

There were a few periods in that 2nd half where I had a wee slight doubt whether we could do it or not in the 90 mins. It just seems to be a wee bit like one of those games where it was so near yet so far, but then up pops a brilliant dribble and run from Stokes and a belter of a goal from Forrest and the raptures began. I think I almost pulled my right shoulder out it's socket cos I was punching the air that hard :52:

Broony and Ledley were excellent in midfield. Forrest and Commons especially were great as well, and Ambrose actually looked pretty comfortable in defence. Don't think there was a weak player out there to be honest and all done their part.

Bring on the group stages now!

I congratulate Celtic Football Club and the fans on the deserved win.

I think you should give some credit to Shakhter who gave a good run for your money. It was supposed to be an easy tie for you because Shakhter was the weakest team in UCL playoff draws.

Kazakhstan has never been and is still never a footballing country, therefore, our football is crappy. It would have been really weird to see Shakhter, a team which plays primitive anti-football, in group stages of Champions League. Glad that it all turned out this way. However, a good thing is that Shakhter took it to 92 min of the 2nd leg to determine a winner of this tie, which in itself is an achievement for such a small, humble club like Shakhter.

The Celtic team and Lennon were celebrating the 3rd goal as if they beat Barcelona and Lennon himself admitted that this win was felt more exciting than the victory over Barcelona. I believe that CL campaign is more important to Celtic FC than to Shakhter Karagandy.

Celtic truly deserved the win and I will support you guys in CL (except against Gunners :D). Your fans were great and the atmosphere was unbelievable!

P.S. I am really * and dissapointed with these sheep slaughtering stories circulating in Europe. I think Shakhter should take responsibility for distorting its image and the image of the entire Kazakhstan. Whenever people now hear of Shakhter, the first thing that comes to their mind is sheep sacrificing, which is quite disappointing. It has taken and still taking years for Kazakhstan to brush off this Borat stigma while another wave of mockery associated with sheep slaughter comes into play.

I've heard the term "A Sheeps chance in Kazakhstan" in place of the saying "A Snowmans chance in *" a couple of times since last week :smiley-laughing002:

    Cheers buddy :50:

For the record, I dont think Shakter play "anti-football". They play the best way they can against a team that has more resources. And they caused a couple of scares from corners and throw ins. We played counter attack football to good effect against Barca - it is just what you need to do when you are up against better ball playing sides.

And to be fair, I dont think many Celtic fans thought the tie would be easy when it was drawn. It was always going to be tricky for us, especially after losing 3 of our top players. But it was a huge part of celtics season to get to the champions league.

Lastly, the sheep killing stuff is a bit bizarre. But your fans were a credit last night and they supported the team brilliantly.

    All the best :50:

    It was Balde.

I think you can see Mouyokolo jumping about nervously at the entrance of the tunnel in the stoppage time, as Lenny went in before the game ended.

Thats a keeper (and my new screensaver) top work.

Tommy and Mr. Stein (as DMcG still refers to him) would have been delighted with the perseverance last night!

Watching Karagandys wee flurry at around 60 minutes- Mathews with a great clearance on the line and then the throw in that nearly went in :56:heart in mouth stuff.

other than that watching the match over again we really were immense.
