Liverpool are a 11th -15th place EPL team, had we actually played a decent English team such as Swansea or Everton I'd agree, we are a level above them and that game showed that.

I don't like stokes up front in Europe himself either mate, I think Sammy is our best option till/if we sign someone else, but I'd have him 1st on the teamsheet in a 2 player strike force

Good news that's it confirmed. Nice to actually watch a game for a change than rely on daft links.

Ever thought of applying for match of the day, with talk like that you're still better than Hansen.

Should be interesting to see what formation we go with for the game. If we're playing 2 up front, I'd go with Balde and Stokes.

    I would play...

    Forster
    Lustig - Ambrose - Mulgrew - Izzy
    Forrest - Brown - Commons - Sammy
    Balde - Stokes

Midfield looks good, with Ledley, Kayal, and Boerrigter all there to. Also think Stokes does better when he isn't on his own. :50:

When was the last time Liverpool finished that low in the league?

They will this season, Man U, Man C, Arsenal, Tottenham, Swansea, Norwich, Newcastle, Everton, Chelsea, Southampton, West Brom are all better teams.

We would beat Liverpool on a regular basis if we were in the EPL

Not got a scooby about this side, I had heard of Elfsborg,Helsinki and most other sides we have played in recent years, but this mob really is a new one for me personally.

Tell you what, we need to be 1st to the header.
Also they like their long throw ins, right into the penalty spot.

Strong defending will shut them out as they are pretty direct.
we boss that and we'll score at the other end.
Astana stadium looked good as well so no complaints there with the pitch, even if it is Astro.

You're clearly someone who doesn't like Liverpool, which is fair enough, but that is just bullshit. By their own standards they had a poor season last year and still finished 15 points above Swansea.

Playing Sammy up front isn't a right move. We tried it away against Elfsborg and it was one of the most disjointed Celtic performances I've seen in years. He's a left winger and our most dangerous midfielder, that's where he should stay.

    d...............................Forster........................
    Lustig....Moyoukolo...van dik....mulgrew
    ...........................ambrose........................
    .............brown.......................kayal...........
    .............................Ledley............................
    .................Balde.............samaras............

First off id say a score draw over there isn't a bad result. We will win at parkhead.

We need to play a physical side that's good in the air.

Mulgrew and lustig are both good crossers of the ball. With balde samaras and ledley in the box we will be dangerous.

We need to protect the likes of forrest and izzy and the new dutch boy. This is a physical side on a plastic pitch. We have the firepower for the home leg.

Firepower for home leg? You sure? Still to realy see it this season.
I will settle for a repeat of Elfsborg overall 1-0! Both legs!

There's been an incredible amount of nonsense posted on this forum the last few weeks. :56: 'Liverpool are a 11-15th place side' is a belter considering they've never finished outside the top 8 since the 50's. :smiley-laughing002: 'Balde will never score for Celtic' is another cracker.
