Andrey Finonchenko appears to be their talisman of sort, at the club all of his life and a has tonne of goals for them.

    Also the club captain.

He's tailed off the last 2 seasons though:

39 Super League matches, 9 goals, 10 assists.

Celtic to win 2-1 away. Win 3-0 at home.

They are talking about the round trip from Karagandy to Astana.

That is the trip Karaganda will have to make. They are not playing at their home stadium. We are playing them in Astana.

We can't complain about the plastic pitch here as both teams aren't used to it.

If they are as physical as some people are suggesting then Balde might be an important player for us in this tie.

Think we take this tie lightly at our peril. They beat Bate Borisov in the 1st round, a team that is regular in the CL/Europa, were more than half way through their season and are currently 2nd in their League having played 20 games and conceded only 14 goals. Easy games? Ignoring the travel to a Country that borders China, hope we, Big Celtic, don't get over-confident just because we are playing wee Shaktar!

I know it's only rumours and none of us have seen them play; but this actually sounds really difficult!

They sit back in numbers and defend? one of our weaknesses is breaking such teams down.
They play long balls to big, strong, physical attackers? Defending that is another one of our weaknesses.
Beat Bate Borisov twice? Obviously no mugs then.

Add to this that our players face a 7 hour flight (*?!), the national stadium will be packed and very intimidating and an artificial pitch and I'm a bit worried, frankly.

Very surprised by this but happy at same time.
We are clear favourites for this one and bookies ain't always far off.

    To qualify

    Celtic 1/4

You were getting 13/8 Celtic away and 1/3 Celtic to qualify with Boyle Sports when the draw was made.

    I'm fully agree with you!

Don't underestimate the team, who won Bate twice (!). The team, who plays in very tough football.
But despite all this facts i'm sure in our comfortable win.

Are you a Celtic fan? Didn't think we'd have too many fans in Russia to be honest :smiley-laughing002:.
