Sadly, bad elements turned up on both sides, spoiling the occassion for decent football supporters, the youngsters and their families.
The club should have seen it coming and had proper segregation. Shouldn't have to I know.
Well done to our youth team and all of the youngsters who took part.

This is just one of the shameful articles I've read about this so called "shame game".

I would really like the club to come out and defend the supporters against this clear and unambiguous attempt to tarnish our name.
Religious abuse at each other? There would have been religious abuse all right but it would all be coming in one direction. Utter * * article, no surprise it came from the Daily Record.

When are the club going to stand up for their supporters?

Every club has it's undesirable element, some more than others, it's a bad day when youth events are ruined.
The same thing happened last year, it's no good :38:

There now seems to be a trend developing of these new morally superior "Old Firm Fans" who rise above the hate and condemn the "undesirables" on both sides.

    Makes my * teeth itch.

    Firpark? Firhill?

Don't kid yourself on Sean, we have our fair share of yobs too.
Or perhaps you think it's ok to rip out seats and let flairs off?

I have seen this before, this is where it all starts and if some people choose to appease, ignore or condone it, then we are heading to a very dark place indeed.

The game was played at Celtic Park last night, not Firpark or Firhill.

Sean, all that I'm saying is that it's a disgrace that a youth event has been ruined for the second year running by yobs, who try to claim that they are football supporters.

You have to draw a line some where, our support is the best in the world and has a fantastic reputation, we must defend that reputation and not let a few yobs spoil it for eveyone.

The Rangers, Sevco call it what you want support are a disgrace, and have been for as long as I can remember (and believe me I'm no spring chicken).

I do get where your coming from, however, IMO hooliganism is creeping back into the game and for it to manifest itself at youth finals is a very poor show.

I like many, was thinking about Hillsbrough the other week and of watching football through the late 1960's and noticing how it started to change in the 1970's.

My Papa used to go to all the games (as a boy, young and old man) he stopped going after he got hit in the back of the head in the terraces in the early 1970's by a tin of beer (proper tins in those days with sharp edges) the tin was full, not with beer though! A split head and wet coat was enough for him, he never went back.

What I'm trying to say, the yobs frighten the older supporters, dads and lads start to thin out etc and eventually they start to take over, it gets so out of hand, that all football supporters are put in cages like animals.

Isn't it funny the media reported flares in both ends of the ground but when mentioning ripped out seats in 'our' ground they didn't specify which club behaved like that..
There's the difference right there between fir park, fir hill and dens park..
    We all know why

But this is when we as a club should do what the likes of dundee are quick to do and slate animals coming and wrecking our ground, publicly aswell as sending them a bill!

What was the seating set up like?

I know we shouldn't have but would it have made sense to sit the fans at each end of the ground ?
