Brines is an awful ref. Not biased just an awful ref. No wonder this is his first OF game.

there is no way lenny can leave stokes out of this match hes been a goal machine recently hes on fire keep with the hooper stokes partnership and id like to see sammy on as a sub and stay to the 4 4 2 formation !!

4-4-2, hooper and stokes upfront, sammy on as sub maybe? no need to break them up, but even if lenny puts out a 4-5-1 i will still be confident. in lenny we trust:celt_2:

We've ahuge advantage in this important game, with us being at home & them playing Lisbon on Thursday night.

We really need to take advantage....of that advantage.

Same team as normal, with Commons & Brown on the wings & Stooper up front.

Would feel sorry for stokes if he was dropped, but Sammy and Hooper could tear the huns apart.

I wouldn't mind too much if Samaras and Hooper started up front actually although very harsh on Stokes.

Sammy and hooper could be the partnership up front and i wouldn't be too bothered by that because sammy when we don't have the ball tends to drop deep and provide a bit extra cover and his usual persistence although sometimes can make rash tackles.

Whatever formation lenny sends out whether 4-5-1 or 4-4-2 the team is sent out to win the football match, the only problem i have with starting in a 4-4-2 is that this is already a very attacking formation and going a goal down you aren't exactly going to change much maybe bring on an attacking mid for a defensive one but then you risk being hit on the counter attack.
What i like about lenny is that he starts with a 4-5-1 and then changes to a 4-4-2 when we need it, playing with more centre mids allows us later on to bring on a more attacking player like Stokes for a midfielder without really hampering our ability to keep on top of the opposition midfield. While lenny realises we sort of demand 2 upfront at home i think he will start 4-5-1 but switch 4-4-2 after 60 mins or so, i think its astute and smart and either way both formations could fail or win.

Walter Smith will go 4-5-1 against us on Sunday and look to hit us on the break. They will be quite happy with a draw I feel. He will bypass our strong midfield by hitting continous diagonal balls over our midfield, and in behind our defenders, so that his forwards and wingers can get a run at our goal, and they will be looking to dive again for penalties inside our box.We will have to be up to that.

Our defenders and midfielders will have to be fully briefed on this tactic by Smith, and there must be no more suicidal back passes to Forster in goal again by our players.Instead they should put the ball out of play if under pressure, or at least make back passes away from the direction of our goal to cover for all eventualities. And have players on each back post for corners and free kicks.

I want to drown them out completely this YNWA.
Not so you can't hear them but so it makes them * off home without saying a word.

Hooper and Sammy could work,i wouldn't mind that tbh at all,but Stokes deserves to be starting and i think it will be for the best if it's him and Hooper.

Sammy had a great match at the Zoo but Stokes and Hooper is tried and tested, and at CP we should be playing our strongest team against them. I am sure our midfield will be too strong for them and as long as our defence is solid, there is no reason we cant play an attacking game.

Something just seems to have clicked in the last month to 6 weeks , where guys on the pitch are playing to their maximum , they aren't staying injured for long because they know they'll lose their places , and in Commons , Maj and Kayal/Brown/Ledley I can definately see things reminiscent of Thommo , Johan , and Lenny..

I think Sunday is a great time for us to be playing this game..

Watched Gary Parker's interview today on the build-up to this game and for someone in the backgroom staff he shows a * of a lot of enthusiasm , dare I say it , more than what we had from anyone last season untill Lenny came in..

He spoke about Lafferty doing Hinkel and how nobody even bothered to make an issue of it on the pitch , and how the current players are fighting for each other and wouldn't allow something like that to happen.. Asked if he felt complacency is a danger for this match he replied "yes there is always the danger of complacency , but not under Lenny's management"..
