In truth .. the game chosen could go either way. Celtic's game on the other hand is probably seen as a foregone conclusion (unless people have seen some of our displays - things are improving but we still look awful at the back)

Best balance with plenty of creativity in mcgregor and johansen threading the balls through to the two strikers . Our best 11 would be Mcgregor out and Commons in but with the players available this is as good as it gets imo .

I'm usually always positive but I'm nervous about this game. Cup matches always make me nervy.

 

I mind we played them at a home cup game years ago, maybe 10 year ago when they were in the Division below and took us to penalties I think or extra time anyway and * were raging, guy just down in front of me booted the back of the seat in front of him and a big corner of the seat came flying off, only time ive ever seen a seat snapped like that at a game.

Just looked it up and it was in 2002 League Cup QF, was actually the only time in our last 15 meetings that theyve stopped us from winning in 90 minutes.

We've been poor in this competition over the last few years. Some very bad results at home. Winning this competition could be huge for Deila and his team. Important night for us.

 

Kayal, Bitton, Griffiths and Tonev started for the Development team tonight so you would expect that none of them will be in the first 11 on Wednesday now.

 

Kayal must like chips. I'd be starting him every game.

Would be nice to win here and get 4 wins on the trot. Would do wonders for Ronnys confidence and the team. Performances need to improve though.

Would stick with the Scepovic and Guidetti up front and give Wakaso a start.

 

Not too bothered with performances just now, especially with all the rotten weather we are getting, hard to play good football in that, Sunday was terrible.

Lustig and Matthews need to play to get back up to match fitness. Play James Forrest, as well, if he is ready. I'd have both Guidetti and Scepovic on the bench (they haven't played too much this season), if we need a little extra composure and quality up front to see us through to the next round.
