We were fantastic today. Players who have looked * poor for much of the season looked amazing. Erik was great, KT an absolute star and Lustig was just a completely different player.

In midfield Johansen played well and Armstrong was amazing.

Roberts, Rogic and Christie were all top notch.

And to top it off wee Aitchison comes on and scores with his first touch to make some history.

    Brilliant day.

    Here we go.........

The annoying thing is, we were capable of that type of performance under Deila. Where we kept on the front foot and destroyed teams.

Was it not for a Gordon tackle at CP earlier in the season? He was either booked or sent off, can't remember, and at half time McCann pulled out a wee official footie rule book to quote from.

Yeah, it was Gordon. He came out and tackled Jackson Irvine, I think. Well, him or a county player.
And McCann was fuming he never got sent off. Brought his wee gay book oot.

We played well today against a Motherwell side who were clearly on their holidays with nothing to play for. We beat hamilton 8-1 with Griffiths getting a hattrick, although I kind of agree we do play around Griffiths sometimes, that isn't his fault, it's the managers. What happened today was a coincidence.

Great performance from the team today. As Ronny said, that's the future hopefully.

The game went into a bit of a lull after 80 minutes and I looked up at the scoreboard and remembered out of the blue we were winning 7-0 and just started laughing. What a mad scoreline to seal the title.

Great way to finish the season.
Amazing that Christie hasn't had more game time. He looked a very talented player today.

    What a day.

To top it off, we got to take one of the big Green and white cardboard trophys home. Too big for my room though. :smiley-laughing002:

Away to the pub to continue the celebrations.

Hail hail everybody. Glasgow Celtic champions!!!

Just like that Hamilton game earlier in the year this game wasn't really in line with what we have had to endure most weeks, that night we got 8, today we got 7 and it could have been double that so well we played and also in such an entertaining fashion.

The team looked fresher with more invention and options than I've seen in all Ronnies 2 seasons and irony of irony it was the guys last game in charge.

Lustig was superb, Tierney scoring was a really special moment I though only to be rivalled in the same game by the young lad getting the last goal.

Even sun and lots of it, no negativity about and it was a great day from the minute I saw the team bus pull in on London Road.

I thought the celebrations etc were just right, not too over the top and not milked too much, booing Doncaster was also an added bonus I'd add :56:.

Top marks to the GB for the Izzy display and wishing Ronny well

Was also happy that Motherwell player was ok that Eric clattered by the dug outs, it looked a bit worrying at first.

Can't help thinking it was also a day of "ifs" if they could have played like that more often, if some of those younger players had been used more often and if the Broons and Forrests had been given far more time away from the team, Im sure Ronny is thinking the same as we speak.

Tremendous stuff. Could easily have been 10 as well. Scored some very good goals today. Armstrong with a brilliant volley, can you imagine the wankathon on MOTD if that was an English player.

Christie done well today, stuck in a centre for most of the game. Only drifted into wide parts(by that I mean towards either side of the 18 yard box,not to the wings) when moving in relation to the ball. Was always in a central position and the players knew they could find him. Griffiths tends to roam a bit more and drop deep rather than hold his position, which has its benefits at times. Was pleasing to see Christie perform well today, had my doubts about him but shown he has potential for improvement. Could have had a hat-trick. Missed an absolute sitter mind you.

Thought Rogic was MOTM today. So adept on the ball, first touch and manipulates the ball well in possession. Great strike in the 1st half that the goalie tipped over. Followed up well on the Armstrong effort for his goal and his assist for the Christie goal was class.

Back four defended well and our fullbacks got on the scoresheet. Young Tierney(what can he not do) drove in well and finished. Lustig had a couple of sniffs from corners before getting his goal, he also had a wee clap along to the Izzy chants when he came on. Sviatchenko and Efe gave them nothing all game. Ambrose is capable of playing like that on a consistent basis, must cut down on the brain farts. Also some back flip off the podium at the end. Oor Erik was superb in the air, don't think he lost a header all game and nullified McDonald before he dropped a bit deeper in the 2nd half.

Johansen and McGregor dictated the game in the centre. Johansen looked more confident and used the ball very well. Dropped deep most of the time to pick the ball up from the centre halfs. Had one superb switch of play to Lustig in the 1st half. McGregor was less prominent than in recent weeks. However went about his work well. Roberts and Armstrong were a threat but in contrasting styles. Roberts with his usual dribbling ability, while Armstrong used his movement and running off the ball to good effect. We seen glimpses of this last week against Aberdeen and today we managed to get the passes to match the runs. Roberts was pretty quiet 1st half as Motherwell doubled up with Ainsworth. His exit at half-time opened up a bit more time and space for Roberts in the 2nd. I'll mention the Armstrong goal again, set himself up well with his touch and then executed with fine technique.

As I said earlier Rogic would have been my MOTM. With Christie playing up against McManus and Co in the central area. Rogic picked up the pockets of space and got himself onto the ball. Even in tight spaces he was still able to maintain possession. Showed good instincts to follow in on Armstrong effort off the post and was rewarded with a tap in. He linked up well with Christie and Armstrong in the Motherwell right back area, more noticeable than he did on the other side.

It all just seemed to work together today. It was only a few weeks ago the same Motherwell keeper was clawing efforts out the top corner and stopping every shot on sight. Today he was picking the ball out of the net time after time.

Young Aitchison took his opportunity well. Composed finish from a young man. Can only imagine how he felt then and feels now about scoring.

Pleasing is how I would sum up today. Pleased that with what I seen and that Ronny goes away with what I assume is a performance which typified what he was looking to achieve.

Shed a wee tear or two for Izzy today. Can understand why he needs to move on. In an ideal world I would keep him here. A tremendous example in an application of professionalism from the wee mans time. Good to see the acknowledgment of his contribution by the fans as well.
