He was flying out to meet up with the squad after the club found out that he wasn't suspended after all. I seen that this morning mate.

Flying and playing on the same day in the Champions League, it's bringing back memories :smiley-laughing002:

Luckily we had the air ambulance in the car park for any murder attempt on our players.

    From the london record.

EFE AMBROSE faces a dash across Europe this morning to make tonight’s clash in Slovenia – after another administrative botch-up saw him left out.

The Nigerian defender stayed behind in Glasgow yesterday as Celtic manager Ronny Deila and his players jetted to the Balkans to prepare for the first leg of their Champions League qualifier with Maribor.

The manager left Ambrose out of his squad as he believed he was banned as a result of the red card he received in Poland three weeks ago in the first leg of Celtic’s routing by Legia Warsaw.

The Polish champs were later turfed out of the competition for fielding an ineligible player in the return leg at Murrayfield – a decision which set up Celtic’s redemption mission here in Slovenia.

Ambrose was suspended for the 2-0 defeat in Edinburgh but is free to take his place in Deila’s defence tonight.

And after training without him here last night a red-faced Deila revealed Ambrose is facing a scramble to join up with his team-mates today.

Deila said: “There were communication problems. We didn’t think he was ready because he got two matches but in the end it was one.

But while Ambrose was being given the green light new boy Mubarak Wakaso, who has completed a season-long loan switch from Russian side Rubin Kasan, was losing his race to be registered in time.

Deila had hoped the Ghanaian winger would be cleared to play against Maribor but the manager admitted more red-tape chaos looked like ruling Wakaso out.

He said: “It is hard to get the paperwork together.

“It is going to be hard to have him ready for the game against Maribor.”

As for the players who will feature Deila urged them to prove they deserve to be here.

He is determined to make the most of this surprise second chance after seeing his team take a tanking against Legia.

The Poles were then eliminated after they were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in the dying minutes of the return leg at Murrayfield, having already racked up a 6-1 aggregate lead.

Deila wrote his own squad off after that 2-0 defeat in Edinburgh and insisted he would have to rebuild Celtic from scratch.

Now, just two weeks on, he puts that crushing capitulation down to his players being caught cold before the season started.

And he expects them to play like a different team tonight against Maribor.

Deila said: “Everyone wants to prove we are still a Champions League team. Most important of all the players want to still be in the Champions League.

“Against Legia maybe some of them wanted it too much. There were a lot of things going on which took their energy away.

“But we played a good game on Saturday and they look good in training. We have improved a lot in the past two weeks and I am confident we can go back to Glasgow with the result we need.

Last week at work been a write off for me - checking boards , internet every two seconds.
Why is supporting this club such agony?
Striaght to bar for a quick few but then home - if on tv , i take more of game in at home.

Think this is going to be very good or very bad... Not a draw... See we are favourites on betfair for todays game... Not a good omen us favourites away from home in europe... Comon the Celts!! Prove me and all worry addicts wrong!!!
