I know it might be hard for Stokes to take given he played well on Saturday but he has been isolated before and Berget may/appears to be better suited. So for me its better to be more cautious, at least to start with. If we are dominating them then in the second half fair enough take on Stokes but the important thing is not to give ourselves a mountain to climb at CP.

So you would rather leave stokes on the bench and bring in some unknown player in his place?? I haven't seen what you've seen in Berget to be honest

We'd be a man down playing Stokes as a lone striker. Don't know if Berget is the answer though. There's a big sexy man in Malaga who would have been though :54:

We have gone full circle since last week. I wanted Berget played up top himself on Saturday, you said he hadn't shown you anything of note, now I wouldn't mind Stokes playing up top on Wednesday, and you want Berget :smiley-laughing002:

Stokes is definitely more suited in a partnership, but I think he looked very good on Saturday. I thought he linked the play very well, and his work rate was superb. If we are going to change the formation for Wednesday, I would drop Commons for Kayal. I would bring in Lustig for Ambrose also.

Play like they did against united & Celtic should walk this... Maribor are about as good maybe a tiny bit better than them

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if we went for the same starting 11 nor would I be concerned about it. Our Manager took Stromgodset to Madrid and tried to play Simeone's Atletico off the park, almost succeeding.

I would be more concerned if we started with Kayal; doesn't create, doesn't score and doesn't protect the back 4 as well as others.

I thought Kayal looked good when he came on at the weekend.

Mulgrew and Johansen offered no protection during the tie against Legia.. Charlie is not a midfielder and was cruelly exposed in both legs.. Kayal provides more snap and energy needed when playing 4-2-3-1..and as he is right footed brings better balance rather than two left footed players..:shamrock:

At least the home game is actually at home this time instead of Murrayfield.
Hope there is a full house giving it laldy.

I think it's harsh to judge based on the game away in Warsaw. It was a relatively alien formation at the time, we had played virtually no competitive football, and we played with 10 men for 45mins. We have had a good few games since then, and the past two games, I think we have started to see what Deila is after from the team.

    @Mahe

Yeah, a lot of people will be without tickets for this one. Everybody wants to be there and there were fewer tickets available than usual.

But you would probably want to go to the away stand, am I right? Which means you'd have to obtain the ticket through Celtic, maybe have someone from this forum buy you one. I think this is the only way you can get in the away stand.

I have asked some friends back in Scotland that are season book holders but it slow progress, as you'll appreciate it is never easy sorting these things out when you live away from Glasgow.

If there is anyone reading this that can help me with a ticket please PM, I really would appreciate any help whatsoever! It would be my first ever away European game! :celt_2:

He did and he has done on several occasions then completely falls away again before getting injured. It's happened that regularly I've personally resigned myself to the fact he will never be the player he was when he first joined.

The entire team were * against Legia, the 2 legs were a write off no point basing anything on that tie.

I'm right footed and can provide 'snap' whatever that is. I'd be no use against Maribor either.
