    Only watched highlights.

Gordon had some brilliant saves, fair play to him.
Referee made a great decision when they scored, I would give them a foul.
    Johansen :56:
McGregor has that brilliant goal instinct, good wee player.

Judging by your comments we played good and deserved more. I never gave them to much respect, as they are nothing than a decent squad. We should beat them easily at CP, but we will see.

1-1 is a fantastic result, would have bitten your hand off for it, I think the scoreline flattered them to be honest, we should have pumped them. But bring them back to Celtic Park, we will take 4 off of them. I will be there * cheering them on so they better do the business :icon_mrgreen:

Overall thought we controlled the game for long spells. Fantastic start with the goal but disappointed to lose one so soon after.

Maribor were content to sit deep and try hitting us on the break but we still had chances and could have won this quite comfortably. A stonewall penalty denied and the two clearances off the line are what kept the tie ending 1-1.

I really like the way young McGregor has slotted in and is taking his chances. Gordon once again showed he is more than capable of being the #1. The save from Ibrahim's 30+ yard strike was him at his best. Stokes doesn't suit the lone striker role but he stuck at the thankless task all night long and didn't do much wrong.

Izzy tbh was a bit disappointing. At times it just wasn't happening for him but never stopped. Maybe just to eager to get forward and the trademark fast crosses just didn't happen often enough.

It was never going to be easy and an away score draw in Europe especially in the first leg is a good result. Any kind of win at home is far better to be needing than knowing we need to win by 2 or more clear goals.

There were the odd defensive errors and there's no doubt we can play better which I'm sure we will. I see no reason why we can't now go on to qualify and I'm looking forward to Tuesday.

instead of all the snide remarks and hun accusations why doesnt someone tell me whats so brilliant about drawing 1-1 with a side as bad as that .i could see throught it if we were playing a good side but they were far from it ,we played well for about the first half hour, then started hoofiing the ball ,*

Very good performance tonight- if I had to rate the players it would be:

Gordon- 7, Decent shot stopping though still rusty at times.

Lustig- 7, Solid and dependable, never has a poor game

Denayer- 7, Very competent for such a young inexperienced player

Van Dijk- 7, Composed on the ball few wild moments but solid overall

Izaguirre- 6, Some good tackles but looked dodgy at times defensively but not bad going forward

Mulgrew- 6, Good first half but quiet 2nd half, played in the steven gerrard role but still not convinced.

Kayal- 7, Good performance from Kayal, ran himself into the ground.

Johansen- 8, MOTM- Thought he was brilliant tonight, energetic and composed. Excellent performance.

Berget- 7, Worked hard and had a few decent moments. Involved in the goal and has settled well.

McGregor- 7, Another goal for the wee man, really taken his chance in the team. Put in a good shift though does go missing at times but hes young and that's to be expected.

Stokes- 7, A 7 for work rate alone. Ran himself into the ground for the team. If he had have taken 1 of his chances it would be an 8.

    Subs:

Griffiths- 6, Did little but had limited time.

Ambrose- 5, Took chances on the ball when there was no need- looks like his confidence is shot.

Biton- N/A- came on too late to really have any impact although made a good clearing header from a corner.

Stokes' deliver from set plays has been a major part of his good work these past two games. Excellent corner delivery for the most part.

A 1-1 draw away from home in Europe puts you in a good position to go through due to the away goals rule. Very good result.

Especially because, Maribor are no mugs, as you seem to think. They very nearly put out Sevilla last year, beat the likes of Wigan, have draw with Spurs, pumped the Huns when they were actually a half decent side...

Nah, being in pole position coming back to Parkhead? That is a very good result and it was very well played tonight.

Well that isn't what happened at all. Not one ball was hoofed in the first half. The second half we did start to play more long balls and we happier to clear our lines, which for me at 1-1 away from home I preferred to Efe doing stupid things trying to run it out from the back. All we needed to do second half was stay tight at the back, not give away anything stupid so we can bring them back to Celtic Park knowing they have to score to go through. We are in a great position and tonight I thought the players attitudes were spot on and Deila's tactics were pretty spot on.

Did you watch the game against Warsaw? We were * terrible! Tonight we showed things are coming together and we were unlucky not to win. The display gives us hope and that is a * sight more than we had last week so take your negativity elsewhere......know a nice site you might like, plenty negativity on there that you can spout your * (RM) :50:

Never realised back then how good his record for PSV was. 73 in 100 odd games, champions league experience, Dutch international striker and we got him for £3.5m?:smiley-laughing002:

Great result, McGregor is a big player for us now, 3 away European goals already to his name, Gordon may very well be buy of the season if he stays fit, few cracking saves aswell! I see a few people thinks Stokes had a decent game thought he was poor tbh defo need another striker if we make the group stages. Emilio aswell constantly getting caught out and giving away the ball in a good few occasions & Ambrose will cost us points if we make the group stages. But we should defo beat this mob at paradise gonna be a cracking night!!

Aye mate, cracking signing. Clinched a league for us, not to mention crucial goals against Rangers, Barca, Man Utd etc. THAT is a top class striker. We wouldn't really go for someone like him nowadays because he would have little resale value.

    What are you on mate?

Away goal, never got beaten.... That's all that matters here.

We got destroyed against LW and are only in our 5/6th competitive game, so play a bit more defensively, yet you're moaning that we never won? That's confusing me.

Do you think that team beat Maccabi Tel Aviv over 2 legs in the last round by luck?

Stop looking for the negatives and get a grip. We came away with a decent result to bring back to Parkhead.

There is 2 legs, we avoided defeat and scored an away goal and are in control of the tie now.

All we have to do is beat them at home and if they're as bad as you're making out we should have no problems, so I don't see why you're getting your panties in a twist.

we kept giving the ball away in that second half up against better opposition we would have been on the end of another hammering if we had continued in the same way we played in the first half hour we would have ripped them to pieces

We weren't outplayed the second half as "some" of you say. The return: 3-1.....millions of pounds which the board aint going tospend. :icon_mrgreen:
