Honestly though, I can see us getting pumped in the group stages if we don't improve.

When you consider our record away from home in Europe it is a good result. Hard to break them down when they just sat back as well

Didn't have his best of games, but utter * and a nightmare is a bit over the top.

We were a Bohar away from winning that game.

Because we are in an advantageous position for the next leg. More importantly, if you consider our last away game in Europe, it is a * of a result.

Anyone with the slightest grasp of football would understand that 1-1 away in Europe is a good result.

Your desperation to be negative at all turns is * hilarious :56:

If we make the group stages we play 6 games, players get experience, we get TV money and we hope that we can grab 3rd and a Europa League spot with it so that we can have European football for 2015.

We're no longer the force we once were. We can pull off the occasional shock when we play big teams at home, but look at the squad right now and ask yourself if you think that's anything to really write home about.

Very good result in the end, an away goal was vital.

We really should have won but we were unlucky not to score a couple of times. The first 10 minutes of the second half were dodgy as Maribor were pushing us further back but we recovered quickly and took the game to them again. Maribor weren't as good as I thought.

    Should beat them next week.

If you had said we'd be coming back with a 1-1 draw before the game I'd have been delighted, but after that I am dissapointed we didn't win by a couple goals! Good away performance, don't think many really underperformed this time around. For all the stick he has gotten on here I thought Stokes was terrific up top on his own, unlucky not to score as well.

Cannot get over that Virgil header though with Stefan clearing it off the line, literally couldn't make it up. Good result to take back to Glasgow though and I am confident of finishing them off, just need to be wary as they could cause problems on the counter if we open up too much.

Best player for me was Macgregor, not just for the goal. I thought in general he put in a good shift and put in a good ball for Stokes there which might have resulted in another goal or pen on another night.

Worst player probably Izzaguirre. I was talking in another thread last night about how he had declined and tonight kind of showed why I feel that way. Thought he was way off the pace and his positioning(not just tonight) is suspect.

All in all massive improvement from the last round obviously, don't think this side are up to much other than looking for a good opportunity to counter. As long as we are patient and not too gung ho, we should be fine.

I thought Izzy had a good game?!! Made plenty of great tackles and made few mistakes. Couldn't attack much but was solid at the back. Can't understand how so many people saying he was awful.

They had a good 10 min in the 1st half and the first 20 in the 2nd half, we were in control for the majority of the match, neither team outplayed anyone.

Yep, McGregor was brilliant again. And another goal - away in Europe too.

We really could be witnessing the birth of a Celtic great here :celt_2: :shamrock:

I think maybe Mulgrew might be best at LB in the second leg. Mulgrew did do well as a defensive playmaker, but bitton/kayal can do that job too.

Also, is McGregor going to go on an away goals run ala Samaras 2012?
