i also think the subs were crazy, the commons sub was too early, and the wrong player was took off, the only thing i can look back on and laugh is the derk sub, surely the worst decision by a celtic manager in a long time.

 

He had us defending like we were playing against Barca in that first half. I had truly believed that Deila would be able to come good but tonight has shown that he can't handle the Celtic job.

 

Berget should never have been taken off... He was causing problems for them and we looked like we were going to do it... They were hanging on.... And then it happened....the craziest substitutions i have ever witnessed...please please explian why mathews came on and we took berget off?... As soon as this was done they took control completely!

 

cheers for all of you who labeled us as a 'pish team'. we showed that we can play some good offensive football, even away and infront of 60k ppl. we were just hungrier than you, as currently there is actually very little difference in quality to say, our players worked hard in defence (both wingers were constantly sprinting back, even tavares was coming back to our half a lot) and a bit more clinical in attack. you had a few chances, but truth be told we should've scored at least once more from the chances we had.

As much as that is mate they'll not replace him this early, he needs the time, how long that'll be who knows but he's not had the best of starts.

The worst thing is the inevitability of all this, last season we were woeful in Europe, since then we have lost our best players, spent zero and experimented with a manager with no experience of a major league let alone the CL.

Legia was woeful, getting back in was laughably fortunate but tonight topped the lot, we all saw it, just a comedy of errors at times, no real top quality on the field, woeful tactics by the manager and even worse subs.

The Lawell blueprint in May clearly alarmed Lennon so much he felt it was better to leave, Ronny has been given that hand which in my view is an extremely weak one which bigger names would have questioned as I'm sure Keane did.

The hand was "your getting no money, losing your best players" with that in mind it's hard to be too tough on Ronny but so far to me he has just come across as a boxer who talks a good fight, the squad cannot be blamed on him but his tactics and things within his control so far have been woeful.

It could be a long, long season...we need a Spurs, Legia, German/Spanish team Europa group to keep any interest going this season
