    That would be my fear too. I know i've argued with you about what should and shouldn't be done at football but id hate us to become a tottenham or a west brom

    You, as many others do, vastly under-estimate Celtic.

    Were Liverpool referenced in Lost or Heroes or The Simpsons? How many folk do you randomly see in a Liverpool strip on holiday no matter where you are?

    It isn't easily estimated but common sense tells you Celtic are huge, most folk just don't realise how huge.

    Are Benfica bigger than us? Genuine question (I wouldn't have thought so until I read your post). Nowadays I think you can add Chelsea to that list.

    We have more real supporters than they do, and that's what counts the most.

    Naturally, as with any club that is successful in Europe, Liverpool have a lot of 'fans' who are simply of the gloryhunting type and only really pay attention to the club when they're doing well in Europe or in the league. We have no such supporters amongst our ranks, since you'd be hard pushed to find a gloryhunter rooting for any club playing in Scotland. All of the big, successful EPL clubs have gloryhunters though, not just Liverpool.

    They are also more successful than us in Europe, but then again, look at the differences in finances between both clubs. They can afford to turn down £40m for their star striker, whilst we eventually had to sell ours for £5m last week.

    As far as worldwide numbers go, we're never going to know who has the most supporters across the globe. Although as I've said before, they have a sizeable percentage of gloryhunters in their support and Celtic do not.

    Without a shadow of a doubt. Benfica are a massive club. Two European cups and one of the biggest fan bases in the world. Porto have had more European success but Benfica are still the bigger club without a doubt.

    * liverpool horrible club and there fans have an inferiority complex. We have a richer history than lolpool. I read an article online a while back in the early 1900's lolpool where the favoured team of orange order.

    I can see why you would say they aren't. However Borussia Dortmund are the second team in Germany in every aspect which automatically makes them a bigger team than any Scottish side. Arsenal are the second biggest team in England commercially. They must have a massive fan base to rake in the billions of pounds they do.

    Celtic fans in Seville for the second tier European trophy - 80,000

    Liverpool fans in Istanbul for the premier European trophy - 30,000

    How can this be explained using the logic Liverpool have more fans and are a bigger club than Celtic?
