Aye and rightly so - we got under 3,000 in 2003 though obviously quite a few more in the ground in the Liverpool areas.

Blackburn was an utterly mad day from start to finish. * knows how many different clubs casuals were out trying to take a pop at us - we stood our ground and then some. The game/result speaks for itself.

Agreed, they are great days out. The actual football hardly merits a thought. I don't bother with these games at Celtic Park but jump at the chance to go down South.

Everything booked for that weekend, aside from tickets to the actual game which I'll get on Wednesday. Can't wait for it :50:

Between 25 and 55 Euros according to the Ticketmaster link.

Does anyone think I'll be able to get tickets closer to the time? I'm skint just now so can't buy any on Wednesday.

    Spot on.

Lived in Dublin for a while and seen it for myself. I just didn't get it.

Been to a few matches at new Lansdowne Road. Couple friendlies, rugby and to see Ireland too. Been ripped off with ticket prices for all of the matches particularly the friendlies.

when they ask me who I support I always reply 'celtic'.. 'do you not support a premiership team' is usually the next question .. my reply 'England.. sorry im not that way inclined'... always shuts them up:rolleyes:

Heard this was a goer just prior to the Semi v Dundee Utd. Booked flights that day and took the gamble of it getting confirmed. Fly out the Friday, back home Sunday night.

ON Saturday, August 10, 2013, two of the biggest names in world football will come to Dublin, as Celtic and Liverpool face each other on in the inaugural ´Dublin Decider´.

Celtic are making a welcome return to the Aviva Stadium, having played there in 2011 in the Dublin Super Cup, while this will be the first time since 1998 that the Liverpool first-team will play in Ireland.

Both clubs have committed to bringing full, first-team squads, and this match will form a vital part of their preparations for the 2013/14 season.

The match kicks off at 5.30pm, with the early kick-off time to accommodate families and those attending with young children.

Tickets are priced at €10 for children and from €25 for general admission to €55 for premium level tickets. A further ticket sales announcement will be forthcoming.

The Dublin Decider is supported by tourism initiative, The Gathering. Substantial numbers are expected to attend from the UK, with travelling fan support, as well as those taking the opportunity to visit friends and relatives in the year of The Gathering.

Both Celtic and Liverpool have substantial following amongst the Irish diaspora and traditionally have very strong support among the Irish at home and overseas.

Speaking today, Minister of State for Tourism and Sport Michael Ring said: "This is going to be a fantastic Gathering event, and I´m excited about it already.

"It´s not every day that you can welcome two famous clubs from overseas with such strong Irish connections. I want to thank the FAI and both clubs for organising this game, and I look forward to greeting the fans when they come to Ireland."

    The Dublin Decider

    Is it

    A) A great chance to party in Dublin

    or

    B) An unwanted money grabbing distraction

    * hate Liverpool . I would support Everton between the two. I would rather celtic play someone else , a friendly with borussia Dortmund or something like that would be great.

Well I doubt we are making any serious poppy from this tie and it is a good way for our Irish supporters to get to see the Hoops.

My only worry is there will be more Liverpool supporters there but that is just a side issue.

Thousands of Celtic fans have the chance to see their heroes, that's got to be a good thing.

I'll not be shocked, but I will be disgusted.
