It sort of is. Our board hires the wrong kind of managers. Football results should matter more than philosophy.

Home to roost? My hair was a different colour last time we won a home game in the CL! They're not home to roost, they've been roosting long enough to evolve advanced intelligence and develop into a small galactic civilization.

I actually buy the "can't compete" notion too. In the CL, we can't (the EL is different, our record there is shameful too and there we should be competitive). But there's a difference between "can't compete" and having one of the bottom 4 home records in Europe. Opposition managers and fans look at the draw and mentally mark off CP as 3 points nowadays.

Here here mate time the support woke up this present board is taking us nowhere and we need a ambitious board who will take that extra step financially as the money is just sitting in the * bank While we get beat every time we play in Europe.

We don’t give ourselves the best chance to compete. So I refuse to accept that theory until we show a bit of ambition and see how we go. I accept that we aren’t going to win the CL. This group was nothing to fear though in my opinion. It should have given us a real chance of progressing in my opinion. Instead, after two games we are pretty much * for a chance at European football beyond Xmas….again. It’s no good enough. We’re European whipping boys, and will continue to be so with this current board.

Mate, how the * were we close to becoming a competitive champions league team last year. 60 minutes against real Madrid and a decent performance against shaktar away aside.

For me, this season, we've went up against two decent teams and matched them. Not all doom and gloom.

In defeat if there are any positives you have to take them, otherwise it's an endless cycle of negativity with no light at the end of the tunnel.

No question Europe has been a monkey on our back, but we will get there at some point, just have to keep persevering.

Doubt 4 points would even be enough. Expect Feyenoord to get more than a point in their next 3 games.

Can't blame last night on the manager.

Seldom do I watch Celtic in the Champions League and think we dominate the games. But last night we did. We were by far the better side and I disagree with those that didn't think we created that many chances. At this level, the opportunities we had last night have to be considered plenty. You just need to be more ruthless with them.

Them stealing it at the end was total daylight robbery. And in all seriousness probably does us in considering I highly doubt we'll get any sort of positive result in Rome.

Despite the dreadful home record and that nonsense about Rodgers being the "worst" manager in the UCL in terms of wins/losses, I've really enjoyed watching us in the Champions League over the last two years. I think it's pretty clear that the decent results will come if we continue to perform to that level. Yes, we need to be more streetwise and clever when it comes to the closing stages of games. But even so, I was really pleased with what we produced last night.

Had Palma's goal stood, for me it was game over. Didn't see Lazio producing anything after that, especially considering we would've sat a little deeper and controlled the game better.

I wouldn't prioritise the Europa League spot either. We're the 4th seeds and shouldn't be overly disappointed if that's where we finish in the group this season. Because, for me, this team needs to prioritise getting over the line in a UCL game. Sounds so unambitious and I get that, but just winning a game in the group would be a real boost for this team's development and confidence.

It's still so so early in Rodgers' tenure. When he spoke about making an impact in Europe, I don't fully believe he meant within weeks of coming in the door. We have a long way to go under him, and unlike last time I think there's a determination within him to see that job through.

A * of a twist of fate last night, but we're getting there. One of the best performances of the campaign with plenty of positives to take.

We were close in terms of how many players we needed. We have then come out of the transfer window weaker than we went into it. That’s un * acceptable. Especially given our financial position. Not all doom and gloom. * me, we haven’t won a home group game in 10 years. Let that sink in. The anger doesn’t just come from last night, it comes from years and years of failures. The two teams we have faced this season are bang average teams in terms of the CL. We will finish bottom of this group, I’ve no doubt about that now. In fact, we will be lucky to pick up a point in this group, unless it comes in the last game if its a dead rubber.

This is a Lazio team that are sitting 16th in Serie A by the way. We’re not talking about a European giant we played last night.

Mate, we all want big improvements in Europe, absolutely, and our record in the champions league for the left 10 year is really poor, nobody can argue against that.

But thats the past mate. We can only deal with the present and its not all negative in fact theres lots of positives. New manager, new players, and we've competed pretty well in the two games we've played so far. Continue the same way, get better players in over the next few windows and results will come.

Rodgers was never going to realise fan expectations in Europe in the space of one window.
