Why are people putting Iwata in their team selection? He's played absolutely * all football for us and when he has he's done sweet eff all.. baffling

 

Aye, he probably won't play but for me he's the closest thing we've got to a DM, if we go straight 4-3-3 as we do domestically can't see us getting anything..

And tbf, he's looked good there in the few times he's played there..

McGregor needs help defensively in Europe, no doubt.

Is he the closet thing though mate? I honestly havnt seen it for Celtic.. has he even started a league game in that position for us? Anyway there's about as much chance him starting on Wednesday as me..

Don't think we will see anything out of the ordinary from BR tomorrow and it's gonna be a struggle. Yang needs dropped that's all I know.. probably the same team that started the weekend but hopefully yang dropped and Hart back in goal.

 

Think we'll see Palma instead of Yang from the start..

Iwata's chances have been limited to sub at DM so you're probably right but surely we need to see what he can offer there, we don't really need a DM domestically but certainly do in Europe

 

I think that's the problem with having a Strictly DM player for us.. he's of absolutely no use for 70 to 80% of our domestic fixtures. So if your not playing domestic football on a regular basis you have no chance of stepping in at Champions League level..

 

We may see the midfield a little deeper tomorrow, maybe more of a double pivot.. he'll need to change something I think.

Hatate not been at it this season for me. Would rather have a defensive midfielder in there to help McGregor. Should still have enough going forward to create chances.

 

I doubt we'll leave Kyogo out although I think we probably should.

But I'd certainly put Hatate on the right. We have zero options to play there at the moment anyway. Think we need a more defensive midfielder in beside Mcgregor for games like this and would also give us a more fluid shape with options to go 532,433,4231, or with a diamond in midfield.

Or we could just continue to do what we have done, don't alter our plans whatsoever despite the massive step up in class from what we play every week and get beat as we usually do in europe, particularly at home
