Quite glad were at home 1st, as we are terrible away, get a decent lead at home then see what we have to do away and set up accordingly

Celtic have just been paid just over 2million Euros for their Europa League exploits last year.
That helps the budget a little. Hope they make a lot more with a very successful CL campaign this season. Even the group stages participation without winning a match gets just under 7 Million Euros.

Here is a list of payments for last seasons CL from Group stages onwards

We also just bought Forster for £2m, what goes in, goes right out.

Thing i would like to know is will the SFA/SPL accommodate us if we make good progression in the CL competition this season ie: move matches and stop * arranging matches a day or to before/after a CL game.

lets see if you are happy if we dont learn from our mistakes again and fail to make group stages ,i hope lennon is right and squad is good enough but i have a bugging feeling that our central defence isnt nearly good enough

And in the very next tie we had Utrecht, who we had away in the 2nd leg, and proceeded to throw away our lead in the space of 15 minutes and were never going to recover after that seyback. Generally find it an advantage to be away first.

Watched the video of the 7-0 win over KR, dunno what everyone is so fussed about...they looked very poor. KR is a really poor team, and the overall play was pretty avergae by HJK. I reckon a comfortable home win, probably 3-0 or 4-0, then we prob just walk it in Finland and get a draw.

    Happy with the draw.

Should have warmed up nicely with Ajax, Inter & Norwich.

Lenny knows the team & they know eachother, with no new signings...

    which is positive spin. :50:

Our Squad is good enough to get into the group stages, they did well in a hard Europa League group last season & I don't think we'll meet anyone as good as Athletico or Udinese.

Forster, Mathews, Emilio, Rogne, Mulgrew, Kayal, Ledely, Brown, Samaras, Forrest, Hooper.

    Optimistic. :shamrock:

I know people are a bit disappointed we aren't playing the first leg away (which usually happens to the seeded teams) but I think playing at home first is an advantage. Helsinki are pretty formidable at home, I just watched highlights of them beating Schalke 2-0. So really it would be beneficial for us to take a lead to Helsinki and play 4-5-1 and try and use Forrest and Samaras to catch them on the break.

If we played away first and lost 2-0 I'm not sure we could turn it around against a packed midfield and defence.

    Forster
    Matthews Rogne Mulgrew Izaguirre
    Brown Kayal Ledley Commons
    Hooper Stokes

That's the team I would play. Harsh on Samaras, Forrest and Wanyama but what can you do. Great players to have on the bench.

If we get through this we are likely to face one of the following teams:

    Dinamo Zagreb
    CFR Cluj
    Zilina
    Helsingborg
    AEL Limassol

This is assuming favourites win their ties in Round 3. Not gonna be easy!

I'd take Henke's team, Limassol or Cluj. Even Zilina.. Just don't want to get Zagreb if we get through.
