I actually said a couple of posts before the one you quoted that it was probably the case that folk (including Tosh) knew him as Charles.

He's the biggest troll on the forum. He's only ever here when he's not happy with a result. Everyone knows it. He comes on here to wind us all up but if you want to pick me as the one in the wrong that's fine.

They got a jammy goal and apart from that never really threatened. We were unlucky with the shot that came off the post, scored 2 good goals and threatened on a few occasions. No sweat for the return leg unless we go out too defensively minded and get nervous. We shouldnt give them too much respect, we were clearly the better team.

 

Same again m8, that whole group there was very little pressure on us because most expected us to finish bottom of that group. I think we're very hit and miss when it comes to high pressure games, I just hope we handle it in the 2nd leg.

You look at the three times we've tried to qualify for European group stages under NL and we haven't handled it well. We got a good result in the first leg against Utrecht, then we crumbled in the second leg. I actually thought we didn't do too badly away to Braga, but we still managed to concede three goals which left us with too much to do for the second leg. Then we struggled at home to FC Sion and capitulated in Switzerland.

I am just very wary of our past record.

 

sad to say after watching tonight we need a quality striker and a quality left winger Sammy is ok but we need men that can perform every game and for 90 minutes.

If you can't cope with a 2-1 win at home then how the * you dealt with going 7 years trophyless and seeing the huns win everything I have no idea!

I didnt say we were quality.

Quality is a relative term. Against the SPL I think we are quality. Against Rangers we are quality. Against the top teams in Europe we are not.

But as I said, against our clubs long term average we are doing ok. The fact we are champions suggests that against our long term average we are doing ok. Count up our league and cup finishes over the last 50 years, average them out, then explain why you think last season was bad in comparison to that.

Either that or just keep nay-saying...

 

Me too, we looked very sluggish tonight. We didn't get started until we conceded, hopefully that was just down to a lack of match sharpness.

 

Definate 4-5-1 away leg-lurch...izzy...mulgrini...rogne...matthews--wanyama..ledley...kayal ...brown...samaras with stokesy upfront.

Reckon it will be stokesys turn to do something for this game. Another 2-1 fir me.

 

You may be right. I dont know if it's suicide. I just feel our chances will be behind their defense in the counter attack. That's why I think we will need Forrest. Commons isn't really our fastest player so that's why I left him out for Sammy.

Well maybe I'm a bit overreacting with the counter attack/pace thing. Maybe we'll dominate the game and play 90 minutes on their half:icon_mrgreen:

I totally agree with you about to shut them up. That's why I think we have to play 3 central midfielders, with Wanyama being one of them sitting in front of the defense. Preferably the other 2 being Kayal and Ledley

Just in from the game.

Had an ok performance. We done some good moves at times and created some good chances but it was all tip tap. A lot of the players didn't look very sharp on the ball.

2-1 though
