Helsinki for a team half way through their season were'nt great and will have to play different at home. Think Celtic will go through after having another competative game under their belts on Saturday.

Watched the game on VIPBOX and the crowd sounded great, keeping behind the team throughout the game.

Not an ideal result but I'll take it, thought we played really well considering it was our first competitive game, we were unlucky not to score more.

Though Matthews, Mulgrew, Brown and Sammy played really well tonight. Brown's energy is ridiculous, still charging around the pitch at 90 minutes, the guy's got some engine!

Buddy, if you have been watching celtic for 50 years you must realise we are not THAT bad compared to many of our previous sides? Do you not remember how rotten celtic have been in the past? Do you just remember the european cup finals?

Nothing wrong with a bit of realism, but you are not being realistic. You are just bashing the team constatly comparing them to the last 50 years, which doesnt even make any sense!

I just enjoy the rollercoaster that is being a Celtic supporter mate.

I have been a Celtic fan for 37 years and followed Celtic for 27 years and we have been unsuccessful for a * a lot of those years... a * of a lot.

then again success isn't why I support the club...

We battered them for most of the game. should of scored more mate. That was tonight after only a few friendly games while there right into there season.

Am proud how we played the night. but disapointed in only 1-0

We did destroy them when we got going, they hardly had a kick off the ball in the second half besides a flukey goal, whilst we had one very unlucky shot off the post, a very bizarre mix up between two players which stopped a goal, and at least 3 penalty appeals turned down.

Their artifical pitch means * all, it's still 11 vs 11 kicking a round thing into a goal and we're better than them so we'll win.

Samaras is far more effective on that left wing but some of his passing is very poor at times. Mathews was excellent. Hooper was poor but got a goal and that's what matters. McCourt needs to learn how to take on players again.

Yes, I remember the team when they were good.

I remember winning 9 titles, umpteen Scottish cups, League cups, and Euro finals.

What I can't understand is why people try to convince me we are a good side when we are really quite ordinary.

    Please explain ?

We beat the Finnish CHAMPIONS who are well into their season ON OUR COMPETITIVE DEBUT! I'd say that was a good result! :50:

The moaning-minnies greeting that we should have scored 100 goals to seal the tie tonight are in for a VERY long (and disappointing!) season if that's their expectations!

I'll take a single-goal win over a two-legged tie any time it's on offer! *, I'll take a penalty shoot-out victory against even the smallest teams if it gets us through to the next round!

Pack the midfield next week. Wanyama, Kayal and Ledley in the middle. Also play Forrest and Samaras because they need to attack and get a goal. That should give us space to break down in the counter attack.

    This would be my lineup:

    Forster

    Matthews Lustig/Rogne Mulgrew Izaguirre

    Wanyama

    Forrest Kayal Ledley Samaras

    Hooper

Altough its a cert that Lennon will play Brown:54:

Some Celtic fans would honestly still complain if we beat Barcelona 5-0 lol

The huns are dead and we're in Europe, it's a wonderful life :celt_2:

Satisfied with mental fortitude displayed after conceding. The defense needs sorting out, as well as offensive moves in the box. The Hooper/Forrest trip is worthy of a Celtic bloopers video.

So why knock me for being truthful ?

At this time we are mediocre.
