I think we'll score there, but they look good going forward at times so we'll * need to score.

    You've got to be kidding?

Brown was terrible tonight, marginally better second half but he was at fault for the goal.

Aye. What's the craic with Kayal being on the bench? Someone said before the game it was Ramadan. Well * me, that's on the go until the 18th. Will we not have him available in Helsinki, either? :54:

When will Ki be back? I'd be happy with him playing. Maybe next to Ledley, with Forrest on the left and Brown on the right.

Commons is useful, but as it'll be an away tie, I'd drop him; play Wanyama in the DM role, and add a central defender.

Can't see Lennon benching Brown, unfortunately.

Considering it was our first competative match there was some good football played there and with a wee bit more luck could have won by more.

Lustig with his new haircut looks like a player out of the 1890's. :56:

To Tosh McKinlay, it's Charlie Mulgrew, not * Charles. Sounded like he was talking about some family member everytime he mentioned him.

Overall I am a bit disappointed that it took us to lose a goal before we got started. We have a very tough game ahead of us - I can see us scoring but can see them scoring as well. We just need to cut out the stupid lapses of concentration at the back and be a bit more clinical going forward.

    I'm not picky.
A win is a win but we definitely made it hard on ourselves especially after that first half display.

MUCH better in the second half and, like I said earlier, it's just a pity it took losing a goal before we actually started playing much better. Hopefully we'll be more up to speed next week and if we can get at least one goal then it should make it much easier for us.

Thought Matthews had a really good game throughout and made a few excellent well timed tackles. Much better from Brown and Forrest in the second half as well, but unfortunately Ledley went AWOL after the first half for some reason.

Still very much on to get to the play-off round :50:

Horrific decesion to take of Commons.

Stokes was an abortion when he came on.

if nothing serious happens, I can't see them bothering us despite a very close scoreline tonight.

We could and should have burried them. We have the better squad and are more experienced. One goal should do the trick.

Please Lenny, just don't let them play too defensively.

Tonight reminded me once again why I love Hooper and why we're so lucky to have him.

He's been woeful all pre-season and did less than * all tonight but still scored a really important goal.

All things considered, notably the difference in fitness levels, and that this was our FIRST competitive game of the season, that wasn't too bad. Still pretty disappointing though, but no overreactions needed.
