Sloppy performance. Bit disjointed at times and never got to the levels in recent weeks. Sensational performance from Schmeichal, who had more saves today than in just about all the league games we have had up till today. Scales and Trusty looked out of sorts and long balls were catching us out. Engels still has a bit of developing to do and overall our passing and press was way off.

Great cameos from Forrest and Kyogo, whose goal gets better every time you see it.

    A good 3 points.

Know it's been touched on in the past few posts but our defence did look a riot at times today. Still reckon another right footed cb would be a smart signing. CCV misses a lot of games and I think we play enough games to keep Scales and Trusty happy with game time on the left.

Was majorly worrying how often they got in and we were wide open. We couldn't handle their pace at the back..

    Needs sorting still..

It was a really strange game. I cannot remember an spfl game anytime in recent seasons where the opposition came to Celtic Park and created so many clear cut chances. Thankfully we had Schmeichel in absolute top class form but it just seemed to me we were a team with half a mind on the coming week rather then the game we were playing especially after coming away with such a big win away to Aberdeen just a few days ago. Hibernian obviously were rested for this game too which didn't help us. But mostly I think that as much as our players have shown themselves to be very focused and abide by the one game at a time mantra the players are still just human beings and today I felt we just weren't quite there fully mentally. But at the end of the day thankfully the cutting edge and class we have in our team shone through and got us the 3 points so we move on to Tuesday and what has to be our biggest Champions league game in many years.

Reminded me of Ange's comments after the midweek thumping we gave the zombies under him at Celtic Park when he said words to the effect that for 90 minutes out there we made a lot of Celtic fans very happy and allowed them to forget any worries or problems in their lives for a couple of hours. Celtic have done that for me more than once so glad Kyogo was able to put a smile on your face today. Hang in there, hopefully tomorrow is a good one for you.

Schmiechel bailed out Trusty and Scales a few times yesterday their defending was all over the place a better striker would have taken a couple of the chances we presented them with before we scored even at 2-0 we weren't comfortable in defence it looked like we expected them to just sit and wait for us to score a few goals.

It was more to do with positioning than pace, Taylor went AWOL from left back and gave the ball away meaning Scales had pushed across as Youan more often than not went over to that side. Scales often got dragged too far forward and Trusty got left stranded in the middle with a big gap for the striker.

The second similar scenario happened but Johnston inexplicably had fell 5 yards deep of the defensive line and let their striker in. He had been down injured so I don’t know if he just hadn’t got back up to the defensive line.

The other one with the cut back to Newell Taylor got rinsed for pace by Miller and left in no man’s land, McCowan couldn’t match Newell’s run either.

McCowan also had that inexplicable back pass.

Hopefully put CCV and Valle back in for Tuesday, although Valle wasn’t great against Aberdeen but I think the elements might have had something to do with that.
