My expectations are based on how over-rated he is among Celtic fans. Him and Hinkel are the two players that do my * head due to how much fans are decieved but there "flattering". McGeady has no footballing brain at all, He beats players more times than he has too, Very rarely sees the easy ball, has no composure, * crossing, * shooting, never ever lifts his head when he is running. I see this every single game but just because he does a few good turns and has 2 good passes out of, what could easily be 15od's, He gets bigged up. It does my * head in.

Chuffed with tonight's result and I also had 2-0 on my score predictor so it was a double win for me. :icon_mrgreen:

I hope Robbie Keane stops watching that 'How to finish when you're through on the keeper! by Georgios Samaras' DVD though.

It * me off that Samaras comes on and a few guys in my area start mouthing off about him before he's even touched the * ball. Keane misses 4 great chances and still gets his name chanted.

Paul Hartley never got stick for having long hair.

I'v been critical of McGeady in the last few weeks, but tonight he was probably MOTM. Although we need that every week, not just 1 games out of 6.

    The huns are wobbling!

Without resurrecting the McGeady debate I think it's fair to say there is a split opinion of him. Based on your comments you abviously feel that he does not have much to offer as a footballer. I do accept that his recent form has not been great and there are games where he can frustrate. That said, he was benched on Sunday by TM with tonight in mind and that decision was vindicated as McGeady was somewhere near getting back to his best tonight. As I said previously it was a team performance tonight but McGeady was one of the ones who gave the team a drive.

Yeah man! Let's give him away in the summer! We need a real Scots player, a direct player with dig! I hear Riordan might be available!

    Cheers mate :50:

Great second half. First half not so much.

Difference, imo, was McGeady shifting inside and playing through center channel most of 2nd half. Set up Fortune's goal from it, and generally ran the show. Mowbray MUST have him continue to do so. Makes all the difference, as he's closer to goal (and now a goal threat) and the touch line no longer acts as a 2nd (or 3rd) defender. Was unstoppable for last 45.

Plus, first half, N'Guemo/Brown were outnumbered in the middle and we were stretched throughout; not at all the case in 2nd half, when they worked as a unit alongside the now-much-closer McGeady.

Good second half, looks like the team are starting to gel.
I thought Fortune worked really hard tonight, Kamara, Brown & Braffheid also put in a good shift.
Nice to see us finish the game with two 18 year old centre halves, both did well, & Rogne looks very comfortable with the ball at his feet & looks like he could be one to watch.

Only slight negative point I would make is that in the first half both the strikers & midfield sat very deep, and it would be nice to see the ball released a little earlier in certain situations.

But hey, tonight was a 5 pointer, good to see the Huns loose points, still feel they're due a sticky patch.
    The comeback is on.............................

Things are starting to look up, we must win both OF games though.
The huns aren't playing well at all the now and are bound to drop a few points.
It'll be hard for us to go unbeaten til the end of the season, we mustn't drop too many.

    Player ratings

Boruc 6.5 - nothing to do
Caddis- 7- gets forward real well. On occasion Wallace had the beating of him tho.
Loovens 7.5- nice goal. defensively decent without being great
Thomson 7.5 - Seems a really solid CB. Had a great block on a good Hearts' chance
Braafheid 8- Controlled his flank. Showed he had the stones to defend stalwartly and strongly

McGEady 8- had a very good game. Frustrated slightly in the first half but turned it around. Played through Keane a few times and picked up an assist to Fortune
Brown- 7.5- played very well and got forward out of midfield which is what we have needed soooo badly lately. Still not as influential as he has been in the past tho.
Landry- 7.5 showed versatility. a reliable player for regaining possession and screening defense. However, he does not provide much killer passing out of CM. For me, he is a black Paul Hartley.
Kamarra- 8. A very good wing option to have. Real pace. Picked up an assist for his well taken corner. Seems a classy player.
Fortune 7.5- took his goal well (even if he may have been offside). Seemed to phase in and out of the game. I'm still unconvinced he is our top striking option
Keano 7.5 - Showed he can make world class runs through. Defenses will be * themselves trying to keep track of him. However, he needs to head to North London and pickup his shooting boots.

Samaras 6 - Did not do a ton in the few minutes he was on. Was only around a short while as Celtic took their foot off the gas pedal
Ki 7.5 - Definitely a creative force in midfield. He is deceptively willing to try to regain possession with some muscle after looking delicate on the ball.
Rogne 7- Looked solid but was largely untested
