The team played better in the 2nd half Dempsey. Koki should have scored and so should Loovens. With a bit of luck we would have nicked the goal.

The 1st half, beyond the goal, was hopeless. Flood was anonymous.

Lots of tackles?? Of course there will be lots of tackles and Falkirk and Hamilton don't exactly have Xavi clones in midfield either do they?

Plenty of tackles were flying in those games as well.

If your team is exhausted and you know you are in for a match with a team who will fight for every blade of grass then resting some of the players makes sense. If you are resting them then you may as well pick players who are known to crumble under this sort of hastling.

I know what you mean but you've said it yourself already, we've got good attacking players who can come on and make a difference when others tire.

The same team should've started. Crosas is a progressive player that can give the defence the protection they need at the same time. He didn't put a foot wrong in the last 2 games yet he's dropped.

What with all these comparisons to Barcelona, they make no sense. Xavi isnt a tough tackler btw. Yaya Toure is the man for that job in their team

Just the first name that came in my heid :icon_mrgreen:

The point I was making is I don't see anyone in that hearts midfield that is aany more physical than anyone that played for Accies or Falkirk.

We should have continued with the same team that's doing the business, instead he's done the usual and got the felt tips out on the Friday night and came up with a bizarre team selection.

we looked average, and hearts were hungry for it... end of story, we just never got into this one, all credit to hearts and now we must start to grind out wins only 1 point gap now, this is going to the wire

crosas should have started imo. I know we needed physical players but we damaged the good skillfull structure out team had in the last two games. Brain beats braun imo.

Its not so much that Hearts are hammerthrowers, its just that Naka, Aidan and Crosas are about as delcate as you can get. Even just playing Naka and Aidan together has been a big problem in tough games in the past. Even in the 2nd half when we improved it was still very very tight until the last 10 minutes when Hearts tired. There is no reason to think it would have been any less tight if Naka and Crosas had started. In fact, we woudl not have had the advantage of having our best ball players fresh as Hearts tired if we had done that. My own feeling is overall this result was always going to happen regardless of lineup. The main positive is that this was our third game in a week and IMO Hearts away is the hardest game in the SPL.

    Your assumption is well off

Still didnt produce a goal against a midfield that was more tired. Cant ignore or dismiss that. People harp on about their partnership as a magical key to unlock teams when it isnt.

except when it doesnt. How many times over the year have OF games been won by the team with the least ball players? Loads of times. Personally, with hindsight Flood and Mick were a waste of space and maybe Caldwell should have partnered Loovens from the start and maybe Hartley would have been a good bet to fit in somewhere (maybe punting Broon wide to do so).

How do u work that out?

You've just posted a comment from WGS saying we took a few knocks on Wednesday night, including one serious injury to Samaras, which backs up what I said about other teams being physical as well does it not?

don't compare a home game to the bottom side, to an away game vs hearts who have only lost twice at home all season!

Something managers dont have at their disposal but fans do

You were coming across as if Falkirk werent noted for being physical and neither are Hearts etc etc. The team were carrying knocks today, something you havent taken into consideration.

They dont have to bobo balde to put in tackles. Crosas isnt a player for physical games, neither is Nakamura. Hearts dont stand off at all which these two players like teams to do to play their game.

No I wasn't, if u go back and read my posts, I said Hamilton and Falkirk were just as physical as Hearts, so your wrong and I didn't make any assumptions.

Every team carries knocks, Im sure hearts had knocks as well.

I thought it was a correct lineup given the opposition actually. There was other lineups that I would have accepted as correct too. There isnt only one way to win a match ya know
