It's a good break away for the squad, great exposure for any Aussie based fans to go see them live.

Unless we are getting skelped 10-0 by teams I couldn't give a * if we win a friendly game or not.

Of the areas we need to strengthen a striker WAS the least of my worries. However although they were only friendlies, it seems that even with Haksa adding his goals to those of Jota Abada etc, we still really need a finisher.

I read somewhere that Everton actually won the trophy, how can that be if there's still two fixtures to be played?

Enjoyed that last night but it’s incredible how wasteful in front of goal we are.

    Missed both games.

Not too fussed by the results but a bit annoying that we dominated both games and won neither.

Never fancy us taking one penalty never mind five, so not surprised in the slightest we lost the shootout.

Win the league don’t give an eff about friendlies. Not even that arsed about the league cup (just as long the evil * don’t win it) Scottish Cup is always a nice bonus.

Have to say the Celtic fans certainly created a good atmosphere.

Wouldn't have known Everton had any fans there as didn't hear them once.

Given the shootout was a tack on at the end... who gives a rat's? I wouldn't have been celebrating if we'd won (much).

It was brilliant day in the sun - many thousands of Celts loud and proud before, after and during.

Incredible we didn't win that after being so dominant - the two sitters were bad enough but I was also a little concerned about how easily our strikers/wingers were run down a few times when running into green space.

Still, some of the one and two-touch football was breathtaking, we were by far the better team, and I thoroughly enjoyed the match despite the frustration in the six yard box. Hart did very well a couple of times also.

Hopefully next time I see Celtic will be at Parkhead... or Hampden.

See at the end of the day this was mainly about making money for the club, and a decent sum at that, and also giving a nod to Ange. I would have preferred we won the games but as mentioned after the Sydney FC game I don’t think it tells us anything we didn’t already know.

    1. Some of the fringe guys aren’t up to stepping in and need moved on and replaced by better fits for our system.
    2. We need to be way more clinical than what we have shown to date bar the odd occasion. This is strange to say given the number of goals we have scored but we miss too many real gilt edge chances and need to be more ruthless. We won’t score all our chances but we do need to be taking a few more.

Given all our transfer spend bar the Haksabanovic fee has been accounted for and we still had circa £30m in the bank and a decent balance between trade payables and receivables. The fact we made somewhere around £5-6m from the Sydney Super Cup and will make around £16-18m more from Europe this year compared to last (when including ticket sales), not to mention the likelihood of selling a couple of players between January and the summer for substantial profits there should be decent money available to Ange for strengthening the squad where it needs it. Particularly when you consider we look like getting Kobayashi as a left CB for free.

By the way, Hatate had an absolute blinder. How he missed out on the World Cup is a mystery.
