After yesterday I think we're in for a serious can o' whoopass, no matter what side we put out.

Hope not though, I paid £85 for two tickets and it'll be the only game I get to go to before the CL starts. Would be magic if we could match them before all the subs start getting thrown on.

    Realistic prediction - 4-1 Chelsea

I think the chelsea game was always a bad idea
1 we ll get pumped (they have all the best players...we have a load of geriatrics and mediocrity)
2 were handing jose morono another win against us
3 the chelsea fans will give us a hard time and try and cause trouble (knowing their association with loyalists)
I sincerely think we should have given this one a miss. and really if we have to go there and use spoiling tactics such as a 10 man defence then its a sad day...."to play football the glasgow celtic way"

big piece in the daily star about this match saying that police have been monitoring hooligan websites which have been predicting serious trouble at the match, thugs from chelsea and spurs have been bragging that they have joined forces with rangers fans to declare war on celtic fans.Members of the notorious chelsea headhunters boasted of their plans on one internet website

That's what I'm expecting. Went to White Hart lane a few years ago and all these * scum showed up. they were aiming kicks at kids and lassies. Pure low lifes but that's the job of the police to sort out.

I'll say one thing though, there's no advice forthcoming from parkhead about where to go and where not to. don't think they give a toss about the fans.

of course they don't give a * about us or they wouldn't have lined up this tie with chelsea, anyone who knows anything knows that this will kick off big time and they won't care if kids and women are hurt,i've heard a rumor down the pub so wouldn't have to much faith in it that west ham fans are coming to help celtic because they detest chelsea, spurs and millwall and a lot of the lads down east london are from irish descent and have leanings to celtic

as of this time the game is exclusivly live only on chelsea tv it wont be on setanta as they are showing the gretna derry eufa cup game it wont be on bbc 1 scotland as they are showing hearts european tie against aek athens so if a last muinet deal was to be done it would have to be either celtic tv or channel 5 as i doubt stv would show a freindly.

Its only on Chelsea TV+Channel 67 on the net and its on later a full re-run on Sky-sports 1 at 10:00pm as that night Hearts play AEK-Athens which is live on BBC1 K/0 7:45pm programme starts at 7:30pm and if Hearts win the both games they will be through to the CL Group-stage for there 1st EVER!:eek::eek:

Liverpool play the same night against Maccabi Halifa but this time its on ITV1 K/O 7:45pm.(live on the box ITV1)

Before they games Arsenal play there 3rd round quailfier at Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia with a 8:05 K/O and I'm positive that ITV are showing the whole Match LIVE on Tuesday 8/08/06 it could be ITV 1 OR 2 3 4

Then on Thrusday Night Newcastle play FK-Ventspis in the UEFA-Cup(2nd Quailfling round 1st-leg) and that game is on Live on Channel 5 with a 6:50pm K/O time so I don't think channel 5 could afford two games in 1 week but some-one will have a link for the Chelsea game easy(hopefully)

I seen that article on Chelsea's headhunters going to meet up with ICT and Spurs causual coz it was reported that 15,000 Celtic supporters were going but not now!(Thats out of order eh?? My uncle isn't even going now and he hasn't missed an away game for 10-years now FFS do these Casuals have No shame fecking pr**ks

I dont even care if its on tv or not as it is a total waste of the players energy and us the fans money. Who the f@*K had the idea to have not one but TWO friendlys within 2 weeks of the season starting? and these people say they have got the best interests of Celtic at heart! this is a very crucial time when it is important to get of to a good start.

    Hello ryan67,
while i agree with what you are saying to boab67 to a certain extent (ie:the board should not sit back and let the club be crippled by debt) do you not agree that these games should not be played?
Of course the board are trying to make money, that is part of their job after all, but so is spending it and they dont seem to be doing a lot of this.

Hopefully UEFA will hammer Chelsea and Spurs for their behaviour etc and not just target Celtic and Rangers.

hello magadog, of course they should be spending it hopefully recent results (man utd reserves, yokohama n hearts) will make them see that money has to be spent urgently and on quality!!!
as for the friendlies, lawell said last week the japan game was arranged in december after being reasuured by the spl that the league would not start until aug due to the world cup, then by the time they found out it was far to late to call it off. as for chelsea i dont see anything wrong with it, it will be a good test of the team and help prepare for the champions league + its only an hour down the road by plane the players will bw back home and in bed for 1 oclock so dont see any problem there. would however have played arsenal or liverpool instead because chelsea fans r scum and i fear for my fellow hoops going down there.

That word crippled jumps out at me, thats how I perceive the people running Celtic, they are not going forward fitba wise, possibly money wise, and I feel they are crippling the team from a fitba perspective. :38:

Ok ryan67 fair play on the Japan game this obviously couldnt be postponed but your point that the chelsea game is ok and will be a good test for the team and good prep for the champions league, i mean c'mon mate, a good test for the team?
I dont need to see us get pumped 3-0 by Chelsea to know our team is in dire staits and as for preperation for the champions league , i dont see how getting another dent to their confidence will prepare them any. But i do agree that the board will hopefully see sense and give wee gordy some dough to spend as we DO need a bit of quality quickstyle! Also would liked to have played just about anyone else down south apart from they scumbags:50:
