We will probably need a least a draw in Moscow, or we could be looking at 1 point after 4 games.

However I've got a feeling our recent good away form in Europe is going to continue.

There's no doubt Spartak will be very tough to beat in Moscow but I think we can nick a draw. Really need Sammy, Ledley and Kayal back for it though.

We had players out that often make the difference for us, it's a new experience for Neil Lennon as a manger, it's a new experience for a lot of our players and Benfica are a quality side, so for they reasons - we have to be pleased with holding our own and dominating spells of the game.

Having seen the game though, you can't help but feel a little disappointed at the fact we won the battle but couldn't take advantage of it by creating any clear cut chances or working their goal-keeper. Benfica were there for the taking and that's credit us but admittedly, its underwhelming when you don't go on and take the 3 points having earned the right to play.

    Mixed emotions for me.

All things considered, I'm delighted with how well we coped. I'm also disappointed we didn't take the three points and I think it's understandable that people will feel this way.

Last nights performances gives me great hope for the future.

Can´t say it was a bad result for Benfica, but we need to improve if we want to take the 2nd place. Very bad start against a very agressive Celtic. Our coach just keeps trying to invent every important game, always the same thing. First time Enzo Perez played as a center midfielder (he is usually a winger), first time Andre Almeida played an european match (he plays for Benfica B, our young reserves team), Melgarejo was a forward last year now he is playing leftback, and surprisingly Cardozo starts on the bench............can´t say i´m happy with the lineup

I think with samaras back and if Forrest is on form, we can be very dangerous away to spartak on the break, and could nick a point, if not three.

Before the game a draw would have been good considering our circumstances, but 0-0 wasn't good enough imo as Benfica were not very good and we really should have played better and shown more going forward, they were always going to time waste and play for a draw so the onus was on us to attack but we never created anything.

A good atmosphere, a poor performance, and a decent result in the end.

Great performance but a draw at home doesnt help our chances of getting 2nd. Early days yet though.

If Sammy was in there instead of Forrest I think we would have won.

We missed three players who would have made the difference I have no doubt had Sammy,Beram and Joe been playing we would've won...tbh i can't grumble at a draw on a night when we made little impact on the Benfica goal.

A point against a very good side with several of our key players missing, and several more not performing to a good enough standard on the night, certainly isn't the end of the world, very promising in fact.

A bit gutted that we didn't test their 'keeper more right enough, especially after we more than matched them.

Great to have the CL nights back at Paradise and last night gives me a lot of positivity and hope that they may become a more regular fixture on our calendar.

While obviously it would have been amazing to have nicked a goal and a win I am pretty pleased with how we played overall. Most importantly we looked much more secure at the back. Scott Brown was man of the match and he and Victor Wanyama really gave us a strong platform to play in the game. We just lacked cutting edge in the final third other then on the numerous corners where we could easily have got a goal. All in all an encouraging performance though. Lets hope we can kick on from here and get our spl campaign back on track against Dundee on Saturday now. Certainly we can go to Moscow with some confidence on the back of this if we can build on this performance.

Just realised that 10 out of the 11 players last night played against St Johnstone, Hooper for Matthews the exception. Considering how badly we played at the weekend it is testament to these players for upping their game tenfold but also shows us how well below par we were against St Johnstone. So well done on upping your game bhoys but also maintain that standard in the league!!

The way those poor little Portugese guys were just bouncing off Victor was comedy :56:

One * ran full pelt to take him out in the first half and got sent flying while Vic just stood there like * all happened.

Worst bit about last night was the fact we didnt even have 1 chance in the whole game against a Benfica side that were there for the taking and our manager seemed happy to play for the draw also. Really dissapointing as as much as we all want to be in the champions league i dont want to be there just to make up the numbers. Cant believe at no stage last night did we just have a right go at them. This was a must win game last night and we didnt even try to win it. Was just a really flat night and we showed them far too much respect.

Anyone else think Kelvin Wilson was brilliant? Lots of positives from last night. We should have scored in the 1st 10 mins.
