Hatate and Engels need to help McGregor out more and make themselves available either by dropping deep or giving McGregor an option. Its very predictable. They have someone sitting on McGregor and we have no other way of getting the ball forward. We need to be able to mix it up more. We cant pass through these teams and we put ourselves under needless pressure.

Hard watch overall - we just look so far off this level its quite depressing.

 

We had chances to do something towards the end of the half there but we're in such a negative, defensive mindset that instead of moving or passing forward we put our foot on the ball and went backwards again. You simply HAVE to be brave to beat teams of this level and unfortunately we're too afraid atm.

 

Think we have done well this half. Not embaressed ourselves, which is the main goal. But also shown well and played some nice football in places.
Couple of sleepy moments from Taylor and Hatate though, but then both have had a few spectacular moments too.
Engels has looked great!

I'd be tempted for McCowan of Bernardo to come on for Hatate.
Jota for Idah - who has looked decent, but think Maeda in the middle will be better for pinging the balls for him to run on to.

 

I actually thought the midfield have done well ...all three have had a couple of dodgy moments but overall all been decent , Engels especially had some good touches and turns. Need more from Maeda .

I don't blame Taylor for the goal but he's the weak link in that team.

At least four times he's passed it out the park when Maeda has been begging for it down the line.

Some striker to be fair. We've worked so hard. I hope our heads don't go down because of it.

If not for Schmeichel's performance, they'd be a couple more up. Terrific first half from him, just so unlucky with that goal

 

No he hasn’t mate. He’s been excellent for Taylor. But he’s passed the ball out of play 3 times when it’s a basic ball down the line. The last time Maeda smashed at the ball in anger and Engels had to gesture to the crowd.

The goal shows how exposed he is.

I like Taylor but it is a bit of an embarrassment at this level

 

Trusty our motm so far, been incredible, CCV and Johnston been good too.

Despite the goal I don't think Taylor has been bad, Olise is different class.

Hatate been a bit poor for me.

 

Taylor's 1st touch tonight too, twice at least it bounced up to his head height... Jeezo, but been kinda ok

In fairness, whilst he got done for the goal, he did initially block it and that break could have gone either way, unfortunate as *

 

Was always going to take close to a miracle to get anything tonight, but you just cannot concede in that fashion, at that time.

I think we've played fairly well, defensively at least. But we've shown them too much respect. Only time we actually went after them was a 5 minute spell from about the 35th min. Looked like we were having a bit of joy with it as well.

 

So typical of us to concede with the last kick of the half. Officials have been a disgrace but we need to show more.

The slow build up is a waste of * time, said it time and time again. All it does is end up going out to Taylor who ends up passing the ball out of the park.

 

Gut punch.

They've bossed it but that was to be expected. We've been far more disciplined than normal. Hopefully we can keep it that way and sneak something...

 

Honestly man about 3 or 4 times we've got the ball high up the park and every time it's ended up back with the goalie. * detest that horseshite

 

Taylor has hit it out the park constantly trying to pass to Maeda. He's singled out again, he's utter *

 

Think we need Jota but not sure we can afford to sacrifice Maeda due to his workrate. Just can't get out at all really.

 

AJ got away with one just before when he lost Kane. Just need to stay in the game, as Bayern destroy better teams than us who open up.
