Madness to think that was the team.

So many weird selections and changes due to people being out!

Haha, Tony Watt has just signed for Charlton. What a couple of years can do, eh?

Did you really say that? :smiley-laughing002:
That is mad.. I'll be forever grateful to the 14 men that took to the field that day. They wore their hearts on their sleeves and then some. Easily my best memory as a Celtic fan.

I'd * love a fit Kelvin Wilson back. Loved the big man and was genuinely gutted when he left. Which is crazy considering I labelled him the worst CB I had seen at Celtic in a long long time after his first season.

What the majority also forget, is just how good Efe Ambrose *YES EFE AMBROSE!!* was that night.

He was clearing when he had to, zero defensive lapses, playing it out from the back when he could and generally commanding the defence against Messi, Sanchez and Pedro.

Absolutely absurd to think it was the same player we talk of now and see making mistake after mistake.

    Maybe so.

As for the starting XI on the night though, not as impressive.

Players from the now squad like Brown, Johansen, Denayer, van Dijk, Izaguirre and Guidetti would've added something to that XI.

Did the bet actually happen or did it just turn out being one major regret not doing it :smiley-laughing002:?

Player by player, not that much different.

This is going from the squad vs. Motherwell (swap Matthews for Lustig), which I think is our best team.

    Forster / Gordon

    - not much between them imo, Forster is certainly the better keeper though.

Lustig Ambrose Wilson Matthews / Lustig Van Dijk Denayer Izaguirre

    - Going on ability, I'd probably take our current back 4 tbh.

Commons Wanyama Ledley Mulgrew / Biton Johansen Brown Stokes Commons

    - Obviously an extra player but again, Commons is still here and there's now probably players ahead of Charlie in the pecking order. Obviously the big comparison here is Victor & Ledley vs. Brooney & Johansen. Brown & Johansen are class but aren't quite at the level of Wanyama & Ledley.

    Miku & Samaras / Griffiths

    - Griffiths is certainly better than Miku but obviously Sammy was class.

Not too much between the teams in this imo. I know the players have changed (Matthews & Ambrose were unbelievable that night and now both don't make the team), but player by player I don't think it's too different. We would however get absolutely rattled against Barca now though. I wonder what the difference is?

He has been rotten for Forest this season, made a mistake the last game I saw them in. As you say though I don't think he is fit, has a recurring back injury.
