I think we played better against Milan and Barcelona than we did last night but we got the rub of the green for a change. The game in Amsterdam should suit us as Ajax will play to our strengths. They will go for the win which will provide us with opportunities to hit them on the break. I believe we can get something in Amsterdam. A point would give us a great chance of a Europa league spot. A win would effectively provide us with a play off against AC Milan for a place in the last 16 assuming Barcelona beat them in the Nou Camp.

They're good at short passes and keeping the ball in tight areas. Really good. Brilliant even. But they're not very good at anything else.

They're talking there like Ajax are a good team and our win was a one off....we are probably better than them

IMO only a few of their players would get into our team....De Jong, Fischer and Sigorhsson and that's it

Same here mate - loved their team when it was full: Van der Saar, Kluivert, Overmars, Finidi George, Davids, the de Boers :)fear:) and such.

    * them - their fans last night (and I know that is maybe not the full representation of them) * it.

Aye, Numan was a fantastic player - I was gutted he went to the now defunct team.

    :54:

Still, he's always been one of those ex-Hun players who seemed decent enough.

Numan came to my high school for some sort of awards ceremony. It was a catholic school so the majority of pupils and teachers were Celtic fans. All the Rangers fans got to wear their Rangers tops to the ceremony which was puzzling at the time. Pretty sure he still lives in Glasgow.

No arrests made last night. If that doesn't tell you the Green Brigade are persecuted, nothing will.

You are the first I've seen mention Izzy and I full agree with you. He played * class. Made 1 mistake leaving the area behind him open and gave away the ball later on but they were really nothing instances. The rest of the game he was solid, pushed some of the players off the ball showing real strength and at times driving forward looking very dangerous. Very happy with his performance. Defos gaining his confidence back and I never realised how much of tank he looked when I saw him coming out the tunnel haha.

Very happy indeed after last night. The only thing i feel is we lack a wee spark up front. They were there for the taking last night and with a class striker the scoreline could have been more handsome for us. But still i'm really happy with the result. They'll be hurtin after that and playin them over there will be a tough test. Still think we can get a win. Worried a bit for our fans when we head over there though. After their pish last night, thats not to say they're all like that. As for Biton, silly challenge. Still think he'll come on to be a great player though. Lovin big Virgil, what a * player! Out of everyone at the moment I hope he stays fit. And hope even more that the board won't be wantin to cash in on him any time soon.

As for the game last night. Personally, I thought we had them sussed. While it was admirable that they continued to try and play from the back, it was pretty comfortable for us. The times they did get through to the forwards were down to our players; could see our players eventually being able to predict the next pass and knowing when to step in to win the ball. They had two spells in each half where they controlled the game but other than that we had them worked out. Thought the subs De Boer made were a bit weird, Van Rijhin and Fischer are two of the better players.

As for us, we worked really hard off the ball but we struggled again with being more clinical in attack. However I disagree with De Boer that we were lucky. Indeed the majority of breaks went their way but they never took advantage of them; something which we`ve been guilty of at times.

Forrest had the beating of Blind all-night, although he didn`t always look to take him on as much. However Forrest should great composure with the penalty kick, especially with that * of a goalie doing a lap-of honour prior to the kick.

Couldn`t fault anyone last night, Van Dijik and Ambrose dealt well with Sigthorsson(or however you spell it),Izzy and Lustig dealt well with the wide players. Kayal(magnificent effort to chase down Fischer on the breakaway) and Mulgrew worked hard, as did Stokes,Sammy and Pukki. Big Herman with his usual couple of top saves.

    Good night all-round.
