Would anyone play Balde tomorrow night? It'd be a risk but his height and obvious power could come in handy, we put a lot of crosses into the box with little reward usually so maybe he could do something about that..

I'd definitely have him on the bench as an option

I'd have both him and Stokes on the bench, with Pukki starting. We'd have options to change things if it's not going according to plan then, especially with Balde's height.

personally dont see were the goals will come from in this team. we cant score from set pieces our biggest threat last year, and we dont have any real fire power up front who can score.

Quite ironic considering you're the one who's taken the subject off topic again.

    Oh well........

I think Pukki deserves a chance to show us what he can do. We also have Samaras, who's capable of pretty much anything on a European night.

would like to see an attacking team out with 2 strikers. So.....

    Forster

Lustig (if fit) Ambrose vDijk Izzy

    Kayal Mulgrew

    Forrest......................Sammy

    Stokes Pukki

If Lustig is out shift Ambrose to RB, Mulgrew to CB, and Ledley into CM.:50:

Stokesy needs to step up to the plate in this game.
I know he's working hard but he has missed a golden opportunity/chosen the wrong option against at least Milan, Hibs and Germany.

Shooting boots back on big man. Hopefully Pukki links up with him well.

Still think we can win even though Lustig, Matthews, Ledley, Brown, Commons and Boerrigter might not start.

Really didn't want to split up Ambrose and Virgil but I think this game might be a bit too soon for Fisher.

Hopefully Lustig makes it. If so, Lustig at RB, Ambrose beside Van Dijk and Mulgrew for Ledley.

It's going to be tight. I would take 1-0 right now.

Stokes in the hole where Commons usually plays would be a good shout. I hope that is what the team will be but if Lustig is fit I could see Lennon sacrificing Stokes or Pukki to accommodate Mulgrew somewhere in midfield. I would replace kayal with Mulgrew personally but I don't think Lennon would want to play two left footers in that role. He prefers a balanced midfield.

If Kayal does start he really needs to up his game because he has been pretty average for a while now. Still a good player obviously but hes been struggling for form.

Is Boerrigter definitely out ? I know Commons, Brown and Matthews are. Didn't realise Ledley was a doubt ?

    Aye, Boerrigter's "injured". :86:

Why do managers never do that though? Have a player feign injury & then start them. Especially if he's playing against his former club; might catch them off guard.

Anyway... naw, he's definitely out. :smiley-laughing002: Ledley should feature but I don't think he'll be 100% match fit.
