In a cup semi the main thing is you get to the final and we got there eventually. However it is worrying that we are unable to see out a tight game.

I feel those sort of floated crosses to the back post should see your keeper come and deal with them. They are in your 6 yard box your 6’4+ and can stretch your arms up further. Instead he was routed to the middle of his goal both times.

It also didn’t help most of our reliable players had an off day. Some good penalties right enough to see it through except Hart, that felt like a total unnecessary side show, he also should have saved a couple more of theirs.

Again though we create our own problems being so wasteful in the final third, after Forrest scored we should have finished that game off and was the same in extra time after getting 3-2 in front.

 

What a game of football. Well played Aberdeen, hopefully you can have a successful season next year.

we beat st mirren 3-0 at home mate so not the last 2 games the defence has to take a lot of criticism picking up the back post is basics of defending and we don’t lose if we do that properly.

Scales puts a lot of panic in our defence and you can see it panics CCV at times we looked solid last weekend with Nawrocki at the back

Happy to be in the final but, by *, that was a hard watch at times. Once again an opposition team target our left back position with long high cross balls knowing that we have a midget LB and a bomb scare left sided CH and, although I love the guy to bits, I think Joe Hart should have came out a claimed those floated crosses. Hopefully this shabby performance is the boot up the * the team needs to show them that they can't lower their standards if we want to win the league and the cup.

 

They played well today mate, fought like * all game. Should never be bottom 6.

 

It’s a shame they didn’t make the top six when clubs like Dundee are competing for a European place.

 

You can tell that from just looking at their line up from middle to front those 6 players would get in any of the top 6 teams outside us and them and some of them could probably do a job for the top 2 as well.

Both full backs are decent players too.

 

I thought that Jamie McGrath looked good

 

They have had a bizarre season !! Watched their games in Europe and they were very unfortunate not to get out of that group containing Frankfurt and Paok, ref actually done them in one of the Paok games. With the players that they have, should defo be in the top 6

 

Just back from the game. Thought Forrest, Iwata and Hart played well. No one else was close to being even average today. Horrible game management by Rodgers.

Thought Aberdeen could well have won today. Got away with one.

 

Wasn't the best but all that matters is we won. Honestly thought they'd win after scoring late twice but outwith the Hart penalty our pens were good.

 

When you watch the highlights, we were incredibly inept at defending..

The one where Scales and CCV go for the same ball and the boy runs through and fluffs it..

Hart saved us in the first half too, abysmal defending from the free kick lucky it fell to a defender..

We need to stop losing late goals. That’s a few times we’ve done that

If we are ever 1 up late on and the other team go for it a bit with long balls we always concede.
