I agree, last summer was a nightmare but i would have loved maybe one or two more players. It’s an average window for me, we all knew O’Riley would leave this summer, delighted we’ve replaced him with Engels but has the squad improved much? Not sure.

 

Questionable tbh.

A proper winger would have went a long way to correct the Yang/Palma transfers. It remains to be seen whether Trusty is significantly better than Lagerbielke/Nawrocki/Scales.

McCowan/Engels for Holm/Iwata is a good trade though.

 

Not sure on both, just seems the chat of the day that either could be gone.

I'd be surprised if both left. We would be very short, even if we did promote Turley.

Hoping we can use a deal sheet to complete a deal for a winger from Premier League maybe before end of window.

Get a deal agreed for someone, get a deal sheet in and get them signed by 1am

 

Considering our bank balance and funds being available before MoR was sold. We have had a huge amount of outgoings and champions league football. We are being let down massively and I hope people see that. Our board have now added further to the balance and are just hoping we will be pleased.

Celtic have agreed a £1m deal to sign Dundee captain Luke McCowan.

It is understood the 26-year-old midfielder has verbally agreed terms on a long-term contract.

Celtic and McCowan are now finalising paperwork.

Celtic announce Arne Engels

Celtic have announced the signing of Arne Engels from FC Augsburg for a reported club-record fee.

The 20-year-old has joined on a four-year deal.

Engels joined the Bundesliga side from Club Brugge at the start of 2023 for a reported €100,000 and can play in central midfield or in a more advanced role.

Manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed earlier today that any players signed this evening "could be" involved in the derby on Sunday.

 

Window certainly picked up but took far too long to get where we did. Barring the loan deal for the LB we could have had every other player in sooner it seems.

Anyway yes we are a little stronger now just a shame couldn't get a winger in also.

Looking like just Engles and McCowan now. Was hoping for another 1 on loan. Happy with the players brought in tho. We should on paper be better than last season in: GK LB CB can't really comment on anywhere else already had Idah and Bernardo and can't say Engles will be an improvement on Matt after last season so was hoping we'd add another in midfield or out wide given the links we've had over the last 2 days.

 

Id take French Eddie if Palace need to get rid of him after buying the lad from Arsenal
