Engels and a centre back are desperately needed now. Another midfielder and winger also needed - or someone like Bogusz who can do both.

Remember Brendan was "ripping the pish" out of us? Then he said exactly what most of us have been saying, about the club not working quick enough?

Glad that Valle is done. Have a good feeling about him and think he’ll be great for us.

Engels and one of Sanches/Bogusz in and I’d be happy with midfield.

Need a defender in. Not Trusty, for me. He’s just a bit meh.

I’d like another winger, maybe a loan with option. I have a feeling we might go for Doak on loan with option to buy.

It’s seemingly a wages issue not fee issue theory is players over 9 m value so far is out of our price range on wages at over 9m we would need to do it on a five year deal to spread it out and a player over that amount would demand minimum 50 k a week
Would be 2.7 m plus employers nic that over five years would be 13.m plus fee talking 23 million cost and that’s a guesstimate 6 star players like that would cost the team over five year term 138 million
We as a team would need to continually turnover 119 million a season to sustain that …. Can be sustainable though just look at Chelsea they have load of guys on low cost 70k a week contract over 5 years and incenvied their contract if the win trophies top six and European progress they get bonuses so it can be done

It's a decent enough attempt at deflecting from your 'wee guy in his bedroom playing fifa' opinions mate, I'll give you that.

    That’s not accurate.

“I’m very, very happy,” O’Riley expressed in an interview featured on Brighton’s website. “It got a little bit stressful over the last couple of weeks, if I’m being honest, because I think the talks were ongoing for a good couple of months but I’m just really happy to be here now.”

The fact we were in talks for a couple months and didn't bid for his replacement till the day after he's paraded is wild.

Fair enough we've probably had talks with Engels before then but it surely could have been progressed ahead of now.

Anyway. Hopefully this is the last window of moaning about this stuff....won't hold my breath yet but I trust Rodgers to make these * see some sort of sense. Surely.

OK, fair enough. Talks probably had between himself and Celtic, Agents etc. Not just directly Brighton. His agent will.have been contacted by multiple other clubs no doubt. But fair point.

That's how a professional club with the right people and set up performance...your quote only only just further highlights how * we are at recruitment as well.

I’d guess it was contingent on O’Riley going or not.

I know we all knew he more than likely would go, but an injury or other variable could’ve affected the move. At least we have a target identified to replace him already.

Maybe mate. I reckon it’s quite likely we’re making enquiries and talking to clubs and agents etc fairly regularly.

Yeah I get that totally but would be nice to have seen us make an attempt sign some quality on top of the potential that he might have stayed.

But it's celtic I suppose. Seems very late in the day either way as even after 2 months and into the last week or two we'd have had a better idea surely.

Aye the club will have been under no illusions he’d be going if the valuation was met. Just hope we don’t * it up and get enough new signings in. If we don’t the club deserve the criticism that would be forthcoming.

I think if Liverpool get Chiesa we'll likely get Doak

Would I be correct in saying that Montgomery, Shaw, Yang and Welsh are the only squad deadbeats/non contributors left that we need to move on?
