Celtic Transfers 2024

Even getting 4 in is still not enough as the same squad last season wasn't up to it last season in the champions league and we go from one clustfuck to another.
We have let maybe 16 players go so far and brought in 4 players so far we really need a minimum of 6 players of quality.

 

if we get 4 in it’s not the same squad Idah wasn’t in it for champions league for a start and getting rid of mostly squad players and going with potentially better quality is the way it should be

 

There's pessimism and realism. Realistically we've left ourselves too much to do (prove me wrong Celtic)

 

Hopefully there’s some real movement tomorrow. It’s getting too close for comfort.

 

Should have been movement tonight, wild Valle isn’t announced yet.

 

My gut feeling is we'll finish up with 4 'new' faces in total for the 1st team, and then see development from some more of the fringe of last year - Idah, Valle (loan - if we trust the rumour) and probably 2 more. All for less than we got for O'Riley alone. Not stronger, not really weaker, just in a holding pattern as always...

In short, the board pulled 'A Celtic' again, and * a glorious chance. We'll still romp the league, probably win at least a double and get * * in CL again... Rinse, repeat as required...

 

It's been a far better window than last summer no matter what happens now. Last summer, we added deadwood; this summer, I haven't seen any deadwood added yet and we've even cleared quite a lot. Last summer, we signed just a single player (Palma) who started the season as a regular and zero players who finished the season as a regular; this summer, Schmeichel and Idah have been signed as first-team players and possibly Bernardo and Valle might be too. Last summer, we sold our best player and and didn't seem to make a serious effort to replace him adequately; this summer, we sold our best player and are making substantial bids for a replacement.

Overall, it's still not good enough; but it's a big improvement.

 

Nobody drags out an announcement like us. Sick of it.

 

Set the bar low enough and we'll cheer almost anything.

 

To be fair RR has been extremely critical of the way the board has ran the club and transfers.

On the Face of it we needed two keepers in we got that. We needed an extra Forward we got that.

Still need a holding type CDM
Replace MOR
Winger

Rodgers even wanted a young third choice forward in cause Rocco Vata left.

That’s 6 players we need, we will end up with 3 max probably.

 

I don’t see him being a loss to be fair. Showed some flashes but I think he doesn’t have the pace and apart from him scoring a few more goals he reminds me of Hacksaw who we got rid of this summer.

 

They'll be hoping to announce them all together for a nice big photoshoot or they're making an absolute * of things.

 

So the boy Valle has passed his medical and arrived in Scotland at half 5ish earlier. Why the * have we not announced this yet.

 

And our Matt has started tonight in a league cup game. No messing about.

Brighton acting swiftly and professionally.

 

Makes a difference when you've had a content player who's went through a proper pre season and is match sharp.

Not meaning a massive dig at Bernardo or Idah, but neither wanted to remain at their previous clubs and their preseason a weren't exactly on par.

Honestly, Brighton have just put us to shame in how to deal with a transfer in many ways.
