Other than obviously MOR and Kyogo not many on that list you'd miss in fairness and Kyogo isn't a cert. Abada at a push

If anything, the player trade model is working. But it could be so much more.

    We've never replaced Abada.

We need to replace Kyogo and O'Riley. There's no hiding from that.

There's no excuse not bringing in what we need. Well, there is an excuse now... Time. But time was on our side for the last two months.

Yep.. maybe after the last window or four the 1-3 million punts are getting binned and we are moving into a new bracket.. big * maybe judging on this window so far

Business needs done now. We need to stop * around.

It's looking like anyone who does come in their debut will be against those * which isn't the best game to throw people into. Not much we can do about it I suppose.

    Correct hammy

If you look at sales also from June 23 to Feb 24

Jota £18m took sell on off
    Starfelt £4.5m
    Turnbull £2m
    Ideguchi £1m
    Ajeti £500k
    Hazard £250k
    Barkas £250k
    Urhoghide £800k

There is £27.3m too so over £100m in player sales alone

Spent £21m last season but for some stupid reason we put new player contracts into the purchaes to make it look like we spent more.

So in short potentially £101m in sales in last 14 months and £34m spent.

This is no viable reason or excuse for not spending a significant sum in the final 8 days of this window if the rumoured departures take place.

    Since July 2023 to date

    Player sales of £101m
    Spent £34m
    Surplus £67m

I known fees etc are spead over contracts but it's just to show the model working only 1 * way

Which is exactly the reason many of us were concerned at not getting any deals done earlier.

Now it looks like if even half our rumoured business comes to fruition we're now trying to bed in players during massive domestic games in time for CL games (first one in 3 weeks btw) with no pre-season.

Short sighted and counter productive way to handle transfers. But we're waiting on quality - lets see it then...

That’s it for me, if we sign quality and enough of it, it’s forgiven because we had to wait to get that. If we get punts, there’ll be a deserved meltdown as we will be going into the huns game and the Champions League underprepared, which is scandalous.

I don't think they are getting binned, just on the backburner. We had loads that failed last year and the reality is how do punts get game time if their is too many? If 1 or 2 come in a season you can give them game time while still surrounding them with experience. So essentially I see Holm, Nawrocki and Yang continuing on from last season and we may try a couple of others next summer.

Nothing wrong with punts but when you bring 6 or 7 in at once you're dooming them all to failure.

Transfer window plan should always be get targeted players in very early, regardless of potential outgoings - we have the spare cash.

Then firmly shut the window 2-3 weeks before the end for those we want keep and leave it open to the end for those we want to lose.

If someone wants to smash window back open again with crazy cash - fine, as we already have the replacements in.

I know this is an ideal, perhaps impossible to deliver model, but we should be at least aiming for it.

    Sorry, Toure. The Hammarby winger.

    Keep thinking it’s Traore.

I’d be looking to bring in an experienced centre half to partner CCV for Europe. A Kolo Toure type signing actually. Someone whose legs have not completely gone of course.

Abada leaving is a free hit in the boards eyes.
He didn't play much the last season and he left between windows, so no chance to invest again.

Then Kuhn starts to step up and we just get on.

Literally what they hope happens often, that something happens that distracts the fans and they sneak away with cheaping out.

We're simply not organised good enough to react to losing our best players late in the window..
