How can anyone possibly defend this window to this point we sit on the 21st of August no better than we were on the 25th of May.

O'Riley goes we will only then seek a replacement leaving ourselves very little time to do so even if we do get one we still haven't addressed the weak spots in the team.

There is still time left but I think the chances of us brining in what we need and what the manager wants are slim to none

Why do the board need to do anything really? There are Celtic fans out there right now who are happy with how we do business.

If someone has enough and stops going to games someone else goes instead so doesn't matter a * to them really.

Participation is enough in Europe for them. Happy clappers will keep clapping and moaner will keep moaning and nothing will change.

When MOR goes and if we don't spend pretty much most of his fee on the 4 or 5 players we really need then anyone still ploughing money into the club need their * head rattled.

You know it’s squeaky * time when @Double Dutch isn’t backslapping Lawwell and Co on a near daily occurrence. Still confident pal?

Tbf the clappers of happiness have went pretty quiet recently. 99.99% on here appears in unison now. For a while it was bickering all the time.

Happy clappers will return when we beat them 3,4-0 next week...too many simple minded fans not seeing the bigger picture.

Yet STILL I'm reserving judgement that Celtic can pull something out the hat last minute. Odds aren't great but going to ry and avoid venting until that window is shut and we haven't done our business.

I dtink people have all the right to be concerned about the lack of transfer activity when we are sitting on mountains of cash at the same time as we are about to lose our midfield Talisman with 1 week left on the window. Oh yes and that we have only 1 LB in the squad.

We all expect us to pump the huns, but we should not look at them as our benchmark for every season. They are completely irrelevant

That's such a riddy when you see it written like that. 14th June the window opened and we've managed to secure 2 goalkeepers and 2 former loanees in that time.

We're a well run business. Not a well run football club.

It's hard not to draw the conclusion that Ange had an absolutely massive impact on our recruitment. Looking back, to sign players of the quality of Kyogo, Hatate, Maeda, CCV, Jota, Abada, Starfelt, JJ, GG and O'Riley all over the course of a couple windows is insane and a million miles from where we find ourselves today.

Still, I doubt Ange identified every one of these players, so the question is how were we doing it then and why can't we now? Does it take losing the title to jolt us into action? Why is one manager backed to the hilt and the next given mostly project players years away from contributing?

The annoying thing is that it could have easily gone wrong after Postecoglou left, yet due to certain circumstances we were able to replace him with the best manager we realistically could have, giving us a great opportunity to build on the foundation Ange laid and improve our performance in Europe. But we don't do that, we don't back him and the recruitment we do takes a huge step backwards. Weird.

Still trust Rodgers to get the players he needs in the door. LB, LCB, 2xCM and a Winger/Striker.

They shouldn't be! It should all be linked together, like a well oiled machine. But reality it's not.

DD, Lawell, Nicholson, Mckay, Bankier, John Smith and the rest of the suits (before and present) are clever individuals. They know, law, finance, how to run businesses. This shown in the money they've accrued personally and the corporate side of Celtic.

They know know very little about football side, like youth set up/pathway, coaching, recruitment and scouting. There's plenty of examples of this from the past 2 decades. Our regression in Europe to basically being a tourist destination and experience for visiting fans and players.

Can't retain any youth (whether good enough or not is not the issue) as they see the bigger picture of zero pathway to a starting 11 place. How do we address that, they appoint ex players without a hint of looking elsewhere.

Scouting. Where do we start there. It's done by a manager whose main knowledge is the shallow cesspool of poor value in England. Recently we've taken a Golf shops manager opinion and agents recommendations for players. Could name many more examples of * bought and scouted by non footballing people to the detriment of the football side.

    WHERE THE * IS A DOF/TECHNICAL DIRECTOR?????

We talk about being an elite, progress modern club. We don't act like it. We're slow, nepotistic and parochial in our football set up. Get the right people in at the right roles and invest for the future of the club. Its not rocket science.

So yeah, they shouldn't be independent of each other. But they most blatantly are.

So we could lose O'Riley, Hatate and Kyogo in the next week and be up * creek.

    Fantastic.

Losing Kyogo, Hatate and O'Rielly will completely derail us.

Notice the two best windows we had in recent memory...Anges first season and Rodgers first season...when we were coming off really poor seasons. We have a reactive board of directors not proactive. PROVE ME WRONG PETER!

and if that happens then us wasting all this time in the window sitting on piles of cash will just prove the board are inept and negligent
