Rejecting an approach for Welsh the other day was top tier banter.

For me when Scott Sinclair signed. He started the next day and was sensational. I remember there was a real buzz over him. The sort of player we could do with now. Genuine quality and gave the club and the fans a real lift. Think his career was in a bit of a lull and we got a good deal on him. Just shows there will be players out there and with the right will could be brought in.

I wasn't happy at the time, but I think it's clear Kobayashi and Lagerbielke are nowhere near the managers plans and Nawrocki needs a loan.

Welsh is fine to keep as 4th choice as he's homegrown.

Yep agree. That Euros I was so looking forward too and it disappointed a lot. Football is just so systematic nowadays it’s boring. Players like Rodri for example are now classed as the best in the word as they are just so good at what they do. But football was so much better when guys like Kaka, Ronaldinho, Zidane, Messi were the guys that were the best and there’s so many more. Guys that produced moments of brilliance to win matches etc.

The PL was class too. Even teams like Wigan for example would always have some random who was capable of something brilliant when they are in a dog fight.

Yeah I remember the days when Rosenborg / whatever lol made the CL quarter finals and almost beat Milan, was a great night's viewing rather than watching Chelsea versus Barcelona 57... games definitely dying.. getting a bit too 'PC' for me as well... Blasphemy lol

Nah he wasn’t used there last season when Taylor was injured, Frame got the game time after Berni went. Scales doesn’t have the pace for left back or comfortable enough on the ball.

Schlupp is a very experienced player which we don't have so many of. Plays down the left side midfield but can slip back as cover if Taylor goes forward. If he gets a chance of a shot can hit a rocket.

Schlupp has played 29, 34, 32 and 27 league games for Palace over the past four seasons. He’s been a regular starter for a solid mid-table EPL club, still only 31, and judging by those stats no real injury concerns.

Believe he only has one season left on his current deal so wouldn't be much to get, just wages coming from the EPL.

If you seriously think he's good enough to take us further in Europe then there's not much hope.

I like him as a player but we should be aiming higher.
He was at his best when he first arrived without a doubt but if that's an acceptable level we will continue to fail to get beyond the first stage of the CL.

I like him as a player but better is needed to progress further.

3 of the 5 games were against poor opposition. Not to mention players can have great tournaments and be crap after. How often do you see it after major tournaments that players are signed off a good tournament but are bang average.

If he went to the epl he'd be going to the bottom half of the table. That isn't good enough to get beyond the first round of the CL let alone trying to get beyond the 1st knockout.

Like I've said in previous posts I like him but better is required to progress.

Well they played 6 games, two against Argentina, Uruguay, Chile. All top teams. Venezuela and Peru aren’t really poor. It’s a strong tournament, always competitive. You see it in their qualifiers.

Also we haven’t just signed him. He’s already played here at a high level.

Not sure what kind of player you think we can get but you’ve been sniffing glue if you think we can sign a RB who would make the difference between the groups and last 16 of the CL. Theres probably about 10 of them on the planet.

We do not need a RB, literally bottom of our priorities right now.
