For some reason I think Holm will come good so I'm not as concerned about midfield if of course MOR stays

 

Agreed mate. But if we did not sign a CB then I would find it hard to be too critical as we have Lagerbielke,Nawrocki,Scales,Kobyashi and Scales vying for that second slot. Although imo none have shown they are good enough. Simply no excuse for not signing a LB though

I'd keep Rocki and Scales as back up.. Lager, Kobi and Welsh really need off loaded..

Wouldn't be in any rush to move Iwata on, our only natural DM and contributed a good amount last season, plenty of others needing shifted that are nowhere near making it here.

 

In reality we should be signing an entire back line. Lb Taylor is fine as a squad player but we need a better cb than Starfelt and another better than what we have. Also Johnston and Ralston are both not good enough to progress in Europe.

Shows a lot about how our board have lowered expectations people aren't absolutely up in arms about going into the CL with the same defence that got embarrassed last season.

Endless waiting and hoping and longing and waiting and despair and then hope again and more waiting and begging... so much begging... and after all that, you know you'll only end up getting by a middle-aged accountant with a heated driveway.

 

I’m not arsed about wingers anymore, I think Palma and Kuhn are going to have good seasons. Jamesy has rolled back the years too.

But we need Idah, a LB, CB and an O’Riley replacement.

Johnston just got in the team of the tournament for the Copa America. He’s good enough.

 

our creativity is gonna take a massive hit if and when oriley is sold 18goals 19 assists from midfield ,we need far better wingers on each side to plug that gap.

 

Ye defo , don’t think we can replace orielly in this window with one player so think we need to upgrade other positions , one or two wingers/forwards and better left back

 

Iwata will only be moved on if he's unhappy or a big bid comes in for him. BR likes to have a good quality utility player in the squad, and Iwata can play in a lot of positions.

 

Roll on the January transfer window...

 

Really need to see some LB rumours. Can understand LCB taking a bit longer as we're keen to move a couple of players on. But to get to this stage of the window with only GT as a senior squad member for LB is mental. The way the position has been a running joke for years, it feels like we're being trolled.

Don't have a lot of confidence currently in our wing options over the season either. That was the main weakness in our team last year, such a massive lack of creativity.

Are we expecting a year older James Forrest to bail us out again? Maeda to suddenly turn into a guy with consistent end product? Kuhn to turn it on in the CL? Palma? Yang??
