3 or 4? I'd be hoping to see at least 6 out the door.

    Siegrist
    Bernabei
    Lagerbielke
    Kobayshi
    Turnbull
    Kwon
    MJ

That's not even including McCarthy, who is likely to remain until his contract ends.

Just had an idea and if someone knows anybody connected with the Celtic board could you pass it on... STOP SIGNING PISH PLAYERS.. just an idea I know.

Also is there any chance we could sign players that will improve us on the park immediately and not players that hopefully in 3 years time we will make a profit on.. again just an idea I had.

Am I the only one who thinks Van Been is *? He's been playing around 15 years and had 1 good season. There is a reason a Dutch second tier side want shift

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgershas revealed no new signings are in the pipeline for the start of the January transfer window.

In an admission that is sure to concern supporters clamouring for the acquisitions of capable, experienced performers fitting the profile the Northern Irishman has identified as required additions, he could provide no likely timeline for such moves across the next month. The need for reinforcements appears more pronounced owing to recent defeats, and the anticipation that strikers Kyogo Furuhashi and Oh Hyeon-gyu, and wingers Daixen Maeda and Yang Hyun-jun will be departing for the Asia Cup next week, a competition which runs until mid-February.

In recent years, Celtic have had players lined up to join before the end of December. Yuki Kobayashi’s capture was announced last November, with the signing of Alistair Johnston confirmed three-and-a-half weeks before the window opened. Meanwhile, deals for Reo Hatate, Daizen Maeda and Yosuke Ideguchi were all struck ahead of the transfer period of January 2022 becoming active. Nothing similar will ensue in the coming days Rodgers intimated when asked if there were any arrivals lined up.

Not yet,” the Celtic manager said. “Not that I’m aware of. I don’t think there are any who’ll be right in at the beginning. I think every coach would want them in on the first day but they’ll be in when they are ready to be in, and if they are at the level to be in.”

    Embarrassing.

Need to bed players in before the Asia cup and to actually hit some meaningful form in the league and we have NOTHING lined up.

Asleep at the wheel springs to mind...

I think BR’s comments are being taken for run by the headline. He only said there wont be any signed for the very beginning of Jan, there will be players in the pipeline, no doubt about it.

If we are going after the 4 first team players that BR has spoke about, the timing will probably depend on the selling clubs getting replacements in.

No need to panic with this headline.

However, if we get through our winter training camp without a signing then we are in bother.

They're not asleep at the wheel, but with one eye on the road, while talking to a used parts salesman on the phone. They think their "experience" will prevent accidents.

The manager isn’t going to come out and say the deals will be sorted early, as it just creates unrest and more headlines if there’s a delay.

He could say he expects some new players to be there next week. That creates pressure on the board.

Funny how when Ange was here that January signings were signed and ready to go for the window opening, are We now back to waiting until the window is just about closed to see who is available and then going on a mad rush to get deals done? If so it is very unprofessional from The Board but then nothing surprises me with them these days :87:

Japanese players. Their season is over. Its easy to deal with them at that point. Looks like we're going for tall European players. In that case those teams need replacements in first.

Yeah then everyone could be left with egg on their face if a player's agent stalls the deal looking for a higher offer.

What makes you say “we’re going for tall European players”?? I’d be delighted if we were after the profile of the Bodo players that annihilated us at Parkhead a couple of years ago.

The lack of height is a clear disadvantage we've got. Don't actually know if we will but that's my assumption. Can't see Rodgers signing a backup striker as small as kyogo.

We need to kick on now and bring in a quality keeper, left back and striker. No excuses, its the minimum requirement.

Would also terminate Phillips loan and bring in another centre back on loan if we cant sell Lagerbielke.
