All eyes are on Rodgers over the coming weeks, already told the Board what he wants and expects.

Right now we're in the still got a month phase, , August the morra and new season startin at the weekend, will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

Seems to have slipped everyone's mind that we have one good centre back and one who massively overachieved. The rest aren't at the level to challenge. Scales did fantastically well last season but to do anything in Europe we need a player at the same level as CCTV or near as * it.

The board will be slapping their own back at bringing in Bernardo to keep the squad at just marginally weaker then it was when the season ended. Bravo.

O'Reilly gone and no new players we are officially weaker than last season. That's each season since Ange left we have gotten worse. The Huns are at least trying to improve and at the rate we are going backwards we won't be on top forever.

I don't share the cynicism on here although I admit that those critical of the Board in particular are driven by history and false hope in the past that never came to fruition. One of the major criticisms last summer was the scattergun approach to signings. There seemed no rhyme or reason- just a load of projects one could level as hopeful punts. Thing is, we still have some of them on the books- Yang, Kwon, Nawrocki, Palma. They can still be developed.

So the days of scattergun approaches appears to be over for the time being. We seem to be waiting to sign real quality. Until the end of August we have a side that won the double last year with an upgrade in nets. Rodgers seems relaxed that he will have what he needs by the end of August. So as I now duck behind my couch- I am happy to wait until the window closes before making any judgements.

Genuine question. Why does quality take longer? If an apparent quality player wanted to come to Celtic why would he rather move in the last week of August rather than the 1st week of July? Also surely it’s easier to identify good players, do they not stand out?

He was clearly frustrated at the end of last summer at not getting one or 2 more deals over the line. The board then shafted him again in January when big improvements were clearly needed. Incredibly, Rodgers pulled a rabbit out the hat to secure the double through his own managerial brilliance.

Why anyone thinks this window will be different is beyond me. It's the same * * every 6 months with Celtic. The only brief change to our approach we had was under Ange, which was brilliant. Signings were targeted well before the window and acted upon as soon as it opened. We largely got what we needed in the door before the second half of the window and had the feet up well before deadline days.

Then in struts that fat * Lawwell and we revert to type. Sprawling for deadline-day loan signings to cover gaping squad holes.

They sign the same kind of idiots every season though. I'm sure we could go an get some of the useless * they've bought and maybe some folk on here would be momentarily satisfied, but then we wouldn't win the league and we'd be financially *.

I have a feeling we are waiting for the PL teams to confirm their squads for this season

This is looking pretty ominous. No signs of signing any new players and our league campaign kicks off on Saturday ffs. Still lacking in the same key positions we have been lacking in for years. If thats not gross negligence then I don't know what is. Those tory * need to be told and I hope to see them get absolute pelters from everyone who has our club at heart - beginning this Saturday

How much of a riddy are we at present when the huns can sign more players than us and they’re a shambles supposedly.

Huns sign * and they lost a fair chunk of their players this summer with possibly a few more to go..

I'll will give the huns some credit as in they seem to leave every cent they have on the pitch.. usually doesn't end well but at least they try ha

they spend what they don’t have trying to improve and we have an old basturt in Lawwell who is an absolute liability when it comes to transfers

So they don’t want to come to Celtic but will as a last resort?

Surely if they are of real quality (comparatively for our level), then we offer them the better deal before someone else does?

Pavlovic just transferred from Salzburg to Milan.
Why didn't he wait out to see if Chelsea, Juventus, Bayern, Dortmund, At Madrid or someone came in for him?

He's a decent player, would certainly be quality for us, if not unattainable at 18m
But why didn't he wait for other offers?

Hypothetical of course, because Milan offered a deal he liked the look of.

It's not hard. We want a player, offer them a fair wage and terms that suits them and us.
They sign, parade them, get on with it.

Do you honestly think Matt will be here after the window closes. First 20+ million offer and he's gone.
