Still a lot of work to be done just to get our squad back to where it was last season and the seasons kicks off in 3 weeks.

Nobody moves as slowly as us in the transfer window.

 

With the way this window is panning out so far it really wouldn't surprise me if we finished the season with them still being first choice.

Like you say hopefully I'm wrong, but I definitely wouldn't be shocked if it happens.

 

Won't be long until we get the usual pish excuses from the board about how they tried their hardest to get deals over the line or that they wouldn't be held to ransom etc while we have to suffer the fear of having to start another CL campaign totally unprepared and another new domestic season with the likes of Taylor and Scales in our starting eleven.

 

How can it be ‘trolling’ when you accepted that you have been moaning. I’ve pointed that out, that doesn’t make me a troll.

 

Mate, it's honestly not worth conversing with him, challenge him at all and he'll resort to calling you a troll or blank you.

Guy literally admitted the other day he doesn't care when we win domestically, he's only around when things aren't going smoothly.

 

To stay on topic, there's no excuse for us not have a LB in alongside Schmeichel, Idah and Bernardo. CB will likely be late in the window as we clearly need to get rid of at least 3 of them, Winger the same as we have 5 on the books just now, and the other CM spot won't be done until we find out what's happening with O'Riley.

With LB? We only have Taylor there, so even if Rodgers rated Taylor very highly (I don't think he does tbh) we can't go into the season with one LB, it's far too risky.

We're overloaded with CB's the now, I'd be shocked if we bring one in this month, we need to shift at least 3 of Kobayashi, Lagerbielke, Welsh and Nawrocki. As I stated above, there's no excuse not to have a LB in and a ST (whether that's Idah or not) come the start of the season, but CB and Winger are ones we'll need to wait on (I actually wouldn't be shocked if we leave Winger until January, even if we loan out Yang we still have 4 wingers on the book)

 

Id more than happily sacrafice kobayashi and lagerbeike (maybe welsh), sign starfeld and go into season with

CCV,Starfelt,Scales,Nawrocki and Murray at the back

We need a LB first choice and 2 GKs

Sign Idah and the young guy Rojas

Then we need 2 wingers

 

With Oh now gone we are 5 players shorter than how we started at end of January and even then we all agreed we still needed players in.

Wether you like me or not those are facts and as it stands we are woefully short in quality.

Need to pull a few rabbits out the hat pronto:

GK
LB
CB
CM (2 if MOR leaves)
Winger
2 x Striker (prefer 1 who can also play wide).

That's alot to be done in a short space of time. Most of the above need to be starting quality as well.

Schmeichal, Bernardo and Idah in over the next 2 weeks and we are back to where we were at the end of last season, with a slight upgrade in goals.

We would also have reduced the squad size, with Oh and Hacksabanovic out permanently, Tilio and Bernabei out on loan. I’d like to see another 5 leave at least. Kobayashi, Lagerbielke, Kwon, McCarthy and Yang. We all know O’Riley will be away too. So that’s 10 out the door.

That’s what I’d like this window.

Schmeichal, Idah, Bernardo, Starting LB, Starting CB, O’Riley replacement, Starting RW.

I’d like more movement but that’s what I see happening, at the moment. Unless we have teams interested in other players on our books.

 

Oh officially gone,it really is time focus in a few incomings now. No excuses. Market is well and truly flowing, money is there, scouting should be done, Rodgers has assessed what we need and don't.

Would have been nice to have the US based fans a couple of signings to watch and make the games more competitive. But we are, where we are.

6 starters needed. 0 in. Time to pull the trigger on these signings.

 

Schmeichel, Idah, Bernardo are pretty much in the door (still some creases to iron out with Idah by the looks of it, but it'll get done eventually).

Rumours of a LB in advanced talks (can't remember where I read that?), so hopefully more on that soon.

So taking they 4 out the equation, I'm hoping for Kvistgaarden, a replacement for Matt and a first choice CB. Also Rodgers mentioning a 3rd striker when talking about Vata, you'd think he'll be looking to bring in a young guy as a squad player to settle in.

I think we'll get all of that (if not Kvistgaarden then someone similar) and possibly more on top of that.

Can see this being a masterclass in squad management this year.

 

I like your optimism but it's like watching Someone trying to walk through while and the way the club are conducting the transfer business they look to be concentrating more on selling players than buying them .

 

I doubt we'll get Kvistgaarden..

I thought he'd be our 3rd type versatile option but with the comments about Vata, it's likely to be a younger, cheaper option..

 

I reckon Rodgers would look at him as a right sided forward who can play striker at times, similar to Daizen (obviously he's no been played through the middle by Rodgers yet). So third striker being a younger guy like you say.

Dunno if that's just wishful thinking right enough, that's just the impression I got from Kvistgaarden's reels.

 

Don't think you need to be worrying mate, they'll be working away at it and will produce the goods in due course.

 

Nah Kvistgaarden isn't type of winger/attacker we need.

Desperately need a creative/skillful type that can go by players and help us break down teams that park the bus.
