Celtic Transfers 2024

I actually believe that we are run like a school. Once the season is over, everyone breaks up for 7 weeks. Just the jani and the cleaner kicking about.

The club probable only pay scouts like minimum wage, 9-5 with an hour off for lunch. Zero bonus on signings made on their recommendations.

We still use pagers as well. Sending contracts to players via 2nd class post.

Maybe I'm thinking too highly of how recruit.

 

We seem to be one of the only clubs in the Scottish League who * about right up until the last few days of the window when it has been plainly obvious for months what We need to strengthen the team is right there in front of us, The Board and Lawwell in particular seem happy to do very little and if We miss our top targets due to * about We will end up with some project players on loan from the likes of Man City which is a win win in their eyes, We need a total clear out at Board level and a new Footballing Structure put in place to modernise with the times, We are still stuck in the early 2000's though,nothing will change while Desmond and Lawwell are running the Club.

 

Scouts dont work weekends either

 

If we sign players at start of July instead of on last day of the window that's an extra 9 weeks wages we need to pay them.

Sign 6 players on roughly £20k/week and that's over £1m extra in wages.

£1m less in the stock piles of cash = less bonuses for Lawwell and his tory mates.

 

So we fly to America next week, after 2 pre season games here. And still NO new signings. * me.

 

Well beyond a joke now isn't it. It's bad enough we got nobody in but the goalkeeper situation is the most infuriating of them all and there is absolutely no excuse for it. Hart announced his retirement in February! Nearly 5 months later and we are still evaluating options with no offers on the table it seems.

I cannot see any other word for it other than negligence.

This cannot continue and it's time the board evaluated the entire operational side of our club because this is not good enough.

Fully expect this to be the starting line up for the first league game. Maybe Forrest for Kuhn. Not criticising that as a team as such, as I would still say it is good enough to win most, if not all league games, but I’m just so tired of seeing players who badly need upgraded.

 

Conceded 6 goals in total so far against lower league Scottish teams. Due to play Man City and Chelsea soon and it's gonna get embarrassing isn't it? Preseason or no preseason you don't want battered.

 

Would imagine their teams will be a mixture of reserve and fringe players. Surely the players at the euros and copa America will get some time off

Probably be Ralston as AJ will need a holiday.

 

Aye it's always the same when we go to these far away glamour tours.
Fans who havnt seen us for years or coming to see us for 1st time only too watch us get battered.
At end of the day it's preseason and doesn't really matter but it does absolutely * all for "our brand"

 

He'll still be here until last week of the window and then we will be scurrying about the last few days trying to send a third of his fee on 6 players.

IF our business this summer is dependant on him leaving we should be far more proactive in trying to mog him on early in the window.

There is literally nothing we do right at this time of year. A proper director of football who knows how to do the job would make such a difference although in all honesty he's no doubt end up working with both hands tied behind his back due to that fat money * Lawwell

 

I think its highly unlikely we won’t have a goalkeeper in by then but even if we do sign say Idah and Bernardo, they don’t get into the 11.

The thought of us going away to Man City on matchday one of the CL with that team is scary but wouldn’t be overly surprised either.

 

Yep sounds about right..They will be hoping for a bidding War that drags out till the last minute to get as much cash as possible and leave as little time possible for a replacement..

Our transfer business should have absolutely * all to do with selling him but I'm sure it will be used and excuse.

Not panicked yet but * me it's a slow start

 

After January and their "apology" I did expect things to be better this window. If anything it's been worse

 

the total radio silence is worrying. not panicked but I can't quite fathom not signing a goalie and a left back when we were needing both in * January!

 

That Man City game was always going to be a showing-up for us but with Bain in goal an probably no AJ, CCV an maybe a few others it could get really nasty. We'll no doubt get the happy clappers going on about it only being a friendly but that is missing the point.

 

The fact we are even being linked with anyone besides a few keepers who were never going to join us is worrying. Any normally run club and I wouldn't be stressed as I'd trust in the process to get the right players in. With Celtic I don't even know of there is a process or if we just wait until the week before deadline and ask Rogers to make to a few calls. It's pitiful.

 

I would think surely to * we will have 2/3 in before we go to the US (2 of those being Bernardo and Idah) but by Christ we need to be getting a move on now with any targets we have hopefully identified and get them settled into the squad. The other should be a new GK for now as a bare minimum. IMO if we are heading to the US with no one signed yet we are playing with fire. It’s beginning to get concerning now as it seems all efforts are going into getting Bernardo and Idah in the door. It’s almost like we don’t have anyone identifying targets outwith them and that is worrying. Hope I’m proved wrong and we come up with a few cracking signings but to be honest I can’t see it at the moment.
