I'd try to ignore what he says, the club will be vague. We might have someone in the next few days but it could go * up. Also Kennedy doesn't have much if any say about who or what we bring in, he might be asked what do you think but he makes no decisions.

I agree a keeper should have been lined up before now, but if it is a few weeks then it's not the end of the world is it?

If there are no incomings within 2 weeks I'd probably be a bit * but I'll save my anger for then in the hope the club beats expectations (which are fairly low).

 

It would be interesting to see the full list of players back today for preseason. I know it’s the non international guys, so I would presume O’Riley should be back?

As others have mentioned Kyogo is the only first team guy shown. Kuhn, Welsh, Iwata and Yang have been on the fringes but showing youth players and Kwon is a nonsense.

 

I’m hoping the hold up is we’re waiting on players finishing their euros/copa America campaigns etc …

Get all the deadwood shifted and those bit part roles can start going to young players.

I would say though, the board are probably now on negative credit with the fans now … so the first few signings have to be real statement signings for me.

I suppose because pretty much our main starting XI are internationals it's not going to be star studded. Was O'Riley training for a week with Denmark as part of the prelim squad? If so that's why he may have an extra week off.

The fact that Kennedy says "I think..." means he has no direct info, which would suggest that anything that is being done is something only Nicholson and potentially Lawwell are privy to. Rodgers would surely tell Kennedy if he knew anything was happening.

 

No one would be panicking if we hadn't seen this movie a hundred times before.. same * different season is what I'm fully expecting

 

Each to their own but that wouldn’t sit right with me. We’ve known Hart was leaving for around 6 months (clubs possibly known for longer) so to get a loan in with the cash we have, would be unacceptable.

I get the feeling the board may take the fable of the tortoise and the hare a wee bit too literally.

 

If there is an option to buy why would it matter? Would seem like an odd thing to get annoyed at the club for doing.

 

Why would we need to do it this way if we have had 6 months to scout someone and see if they are any good? I don’t mind an option to buy if we’ve had to replace someone last minute.

I have a feeling we're going to have quite a good window mate. I don't think we have the structure (or AFAIK the staff) to have the kind of amazing window that would have me looking forward to the CL rather than dreading it; but I think we'll undo a lot of the damage of the last 3 windows. Enough to comfortably pull ahead of the current Hun team (although that depends on how much they also strengthen of course).

At any rate, if it's not a good window, it will be because the board screwed up rather than the biscuit tin being back out. I think they want to spend some of this money this time.

 

Tbf you are constantly in a rage, while predicting all kinds of * - knocked out of the Cup, 4 straight defeats beat by the orcs and on and on it’ll go…. anyway I thought you were currently * yer pants about the forthcoming nuclear war you predicted a few days ago, would you not be better digging a bunker……. although given your success rate at predictions probably not tbh lol.
