Getting over £5m in for Haksabanovic and Oh really is great business. Just need to make sure we spend the transfer budget we do have wisely. Adding £5m to the coffers will really impress the shareholders though.

About time we get some business done. We have enough coin in the bank to have been planning way ahead! But the silence is rather unnerving.

 

I actually feel pretty confident that we will want to spend, based on 3 things:

1) Rodgers' demeanour at the end of the season.
2) Getting rid of Mark Lawwell and Joe Dudgeon was as good as an admission that they didn't do their job.
3) The embarrassing admission bordering on an apology to shareholders in the financial statement that we were sitting on more money than would usually be good business practice.

Where I get more pessimistic is that I have no faith in our recruitment structure anymore. I have no faith in their ability to find the right deals or to get them done. I have only slightly more faith in Rodgers when it comes to recruitment too.

 

I pretty much have zero faith at all in the The Board and Recruitment side of the Club who seem to think that every project we sign in the 18-23 year old, under £5 million policy created by Lawwell will be an instant hit and last summer was proof that it was a complete * up, I don't expect anything to change this summer, it will be the same old * as it is every season, * about over transfer fees and wages, taking forever to confirm any deals and rushing about mad on deadline day to get players in on loan, until Lawwell goes nothing will change.

Whilst I think that can be levelled at the club in many way, Cooper actively slagged the club for their recruitment decisions.

Surprising that he’s been given the job of a scout, given how he spoke about the recruitment team before.

 

It’s his market. Obviously with the Copa America expanding to include the North, it does open up some more countries to explore, from an international point of view.

 

We can but hope.

Not expecting an influx of south Americans though, like we did with Asian players with Ange bringing that knowledge. But would be nice if we did actively look there. Otherwise, why bother giving this guy a permanent deal.

Something that clubs like Brighton and Porto have exploited superbly well

 

Nice to get involved with the South American market. More players for us to monitor the situation on before another team buys them.

We've just signed utter Scheidt and players past it who didn't settle that well like Juninho. Bernabei was another diddy. Laxalt was a pishy loan..

South Americans can go all over to Eastern Europe like Russia and Ukraine in minus 20 yet can't settle in Scotland? Rubbish..

If you sign quality and maybe help settle them in like Ange got sorted with our Japanese contingent....it'll be no problem..
