Am sure we could have had any number of players in by now for those positions, but not of the quality we all want. That takes time, and a bit of luck for a club in our position.

If you think that's me making excuses you carry on.

There's not much excuse for not having a GK or LB in by mid July.

We can't hang around forever. Appreciate that we are wanting the right quality but we will need to pull the trigger on someone eventually. Other positions can maybe accept it taking a bit longer.

Tbh I don't hold out much hope when we don't even have a proper recruitment structure in place.

Mate I REALLY cba with another summer of this back and forward but please wake up.

We have known for around a year we would need a GK (regardless if Hart retired we would need someone very soon) and Greg Taylor been pretty much our only LB for * knows how long and you say we need to wait for quality??

We are a football club with connections to agents worldwide.

We are a football club with teams of scouts who's only job will be to identify and evaluate talent.

We are a football club with a very experienced manager who will no doubt have contacts throughout football.

So are you telling me that in a year we cannot find anyone???

Give me 1 year with my sole purpose to look at potential players all day every day with a certain budget and I'll guarantee you will have more than the current dead silence.

You done this last year and had to back track. I actually have some faith and it is still early but please give it up with the excuses for our board.

So you're saying we don't have any GK or LB on our list of targets?

You would think we do but we needed these positions in January and nothing happened.

Cant remember if it was Rodgers or the rat Lawell who said after the window we had players wanting to come but but their teams said no due to January. If that was the case and not just a line then where are those players now? Surely they are quick hits? Players want to be here and season finished.

Well if these players are still looking to join us, and their clubs play ball, am sure it'll be a relatively smooth process when all parties are ready to sit down.

If you're insistent on panicking then wire in, no how I'm planning on spending my summer lol.

I wouldn't be concerned at this stage, if we had made the necessary changes to our footballing/recruitment structure.

Sick of saying it tbh, but it was the beginning of March when we emptied Lawwell and Dudgeon. And they haven't been replaced, so it's no surprise we haven't been active in the market.

Mark Cooper was brought in, so maybe he is Dudgeon's replacement, but who knows. No other elite minded club operates like us. We're sluggish in the market and old fashioned in our thinking.

We don't have qualifiers, which buys a bit of time. But, I'm expecting another haphazard window with us scrambling around throughout.

Would love to be proven wrong but a lot is going to fall on Rodgers to sort, with the way we are run and that's definitely a concern. I don't think it's his forte, coaching aye, player recruitment with not much help, we're about to find out.

Spot on, the chances of us going into pre-season with Bain as our number 1 is looking more likely by the day, Bain is decent backup but not a first team starter.

We have had almost 3 transfer windows to sign a first team quality GK and LB but have consistently * about as if those areas were never in need of any attention.

When Ange was here We seemed to have no problem with getting players in that We needed and signed very quickly but since Lawwell Snr returned to the Club as Chairman everything seems to have gone back to the way it was when He was CEO which is very concerning.

I know people are saying "lets not worry about what the huns are doing" but to be fair to them they have a DOF and a proper Recruitment Team in place, no matter what players they are targeting 9 times out of 10 they will sign them and have them in the door very quickly.

I have zero faith in the Board getting it right this time round, they have * up the last three transfer windows with selling some of our best players and replacing them with absolute *, We could have a far better team on the park and be competing in the CL if We didn't waste money on absolute * every season but Lawwell and Nicholson think that being just slightly better than the Huns is as good as it gets.

As soon as the Euros are over we should have a GL and LB in as soon as possible. No excuses. The Euros are effectively an on show marketplace for us. And if there are no players available there out scouts should have others ready for the manager to consider. We are fortunate not to have any Euro qualifiers, however, getting a strong squad in for pre season can give us every opportunity to get and get everyone on the same fitness keel, rather than players coming in late, needing to get up to speed and possibly picking up a knock as a result.

I'm hoping this season is going to be different from the last few seasons where we have waited till last minute to bring in gems or projects, or, as in care when Bernabei left, no cover for Taylor. Rodgers needs to show his hand and let us see he is his own man when it comes to building a side that can dominate domestically and improve I'm Europe.

    Fingers crossed.

There is zero evidence to suggest this window is gonna be any different to what we have come to expect as the norm for our transfer dealings.
Slow, lethargic, projects, no real quality to instantly improve us.

As for the whine euro tournament thing, if we had scouts worth their salt, we wouldn't be waiting for players to shine in an international tournament cranking up their prices.
They'd already have them scouted, offers put in and players already signed.

You would think so but our Board seem to be more interested in stockpiling cash and running the Club as a Bank rather than invest in the quality of players that We need on the park to do well in the CL.

It will be the same old business as usual and nothing will change until this Board is gone.

Does anyone really except this window to be any different? I know I don’t. I’m not a pantywetter or panic merchant. Just an experienced celtic supporter. I hope I am wrong. For me the big red flag is the GK situation. A well run club would have had someone already signed and ready to go. Without getting into the whole Lawell has no influence aye he does saga it does make me think of something he said many years ago. That it made no sense to sign players early and effectively pay them wages when the season isn’t even close to starting

I do expect this transfer window to be hugely different. If it’s the same old * I’ll be raging, which I’m sure will bother them :52::47:

Yes, and no... I think we'll spend more than we usually do... By which I mean, I think we'll spend about £20-25M all in, on loads of signings, while bringing in about £25-30M in sales/tranche payments...

And the board are going * nowhere... They're making money for jam, and we've no way to leverage them out...
