Gonna leave this here. An updated statement from the previous one, adapted to the current situation:

It is that time of the year again. Celtic have a summer transfer window ahead of them, with many positions needing to be bolstered. Yet, we already hear how there are issues stopping us from buying out the two loanees which helped us secure last season's double.

It does not bode well when Peter Lawwell sits in the board, and we reportedly cannot meet the wage demands of a player whom Benfica do not deem necessary, or balk at signing a player our manager expressly wants because he scored vital goals. No doubt there will be more reasons why we will yet again experience a depressing summer.

Excuses have varied. When Celtic had to qualify for Champions League through several rounds of qualifiers, the stated reason for the lack of signings that could make us competitive was “that we wouldn’t know if we would qualify for Champions League or not”. There would also be mentions of how “the market was difficult”. Once we had direct qualification, the main excuse became that “better players want to weigh their options”.
Now, it's going to be an easy excuse - the Euros. Nevermind that we don't usually buy expensive players from decent continental sides which appear at the Euros. In fact, East Asia, a market we've explored heavily before Rodgers, does not have an ongoing competition that heavily puts players in the shopping window to the extent that they would stall any bids.

Never mind that other clubs do bring in players while we wait, and that the board like to boast with great finances at every AGM. This year, they had a special report even, to inform us of the financial situation being better than projected.

So why then, are the club officials constantly pointing to the collapse of the old Rangers FC, or in more ecent times - at Everton’s troubles? These things do not concern us- we have a healthy bank balance that is constantly improving, enabling bigger wages and transfer fees to be paid.

The board, despite having no excuses, have decided consciously to not approve of any signings that would be considered star players, unless they had been signed on a loan the year prior. The cautious approach has only resulted in anguish for the fans, who are trying to help the club’s footballing side grow with every kit bought, every season ticket purchased or renewed, etc. Instead, only the bank balance grows, looking like a layer of blubber for some theoretical crisis that won’t come.

    Enough is enough.

If the board prioritize money over footballing success, then they should be punished in a way that hurts their self-selected priorities.

We invite all Celtic fans to withhold any further spending regarding the club as a corporate entity. Cancel season tickets and Celtic TV subscriptions, stop buying merchandise from the club store, do not attend games, and most importantly, use social media to proudly state you’re part of this initiative. Spread the word of your discontent with the current situation, and help this protest reach both critical mass and media coverage.

If you are too attached to the team on the pitch and thus cannot stomach the thought of non-attendance, vocally express dissatisfaction with the board by protesting outside the stadium. they will see negative publicity drawn to them, and the headlines of tabloids impacting
    As it should.

The players duly come out every week, alongside the manager, and perform what they are paid to. With more or less success, but they do their job. Including press conferences - the eye of the media is always upon them. They've steeled themselves in the face of adversity to secure a double. But those are players Ange Postecoglou has left Brendan Rodgers as inheritance.

Do you trust the current scouting set-up, now lacking a Chief Scout and someone above to guide the scouting policy, to adequately replace the core players of Angeball?

The majority shareholder is always absent- never present to clarify his plans on how should the club progress or answer questions. Whenever the club win (domestic) silverware, Dermot Desmond and the board are there to take the plaudits. But when failure occurs, they are silent, and have never implemented radical changes to ensure improvement beyond the usual goal of domestic domination, yet continue to be paid on the level of CEO-s of clubs with much more financial muscle, despite the player wages cap being unaffected by inflation.

Our patience with them has finally run out.

We, the fans of Celtic FC, demand that the current and any future manager be backed with sufficient funds at his disposal ( without having to rely on player sales) in terms of both wages and transfer fees, in order to be able to rectify the problem positions in the squad, starting right now. A scouting system should be built from scratch, by attracting proven experts who will not have stringent financial limits imposed on them when considering which players to recommend.
Furthermore, additional staff should be recruited to overhaul training and reduce the number of injuries to first team players, as well as improve the defensive and set piece aspects of the game.
Lastly, appropriate changes to the board structure should be considered, so that a fans’ representative could participate in the management of the club as a whole.

Until these demands are met, the corporate entity should be treated as an enemy by the fans, and financial expenses withdrawn from it, or at the very least, the presence of board members at Celtic Park should elicit the same response as the presence of Rangers fans - boos and jeers. We are fans of the club founded on the idea of Brother Walfrid, and hold loyalty to it alone. The board must earn our trust, by following through with our explicit wish that the club do better in Europe.

If the board yield, and spend the money we have thus far invested in the club with an aim to improve the club’s footballing side- the primary one, we fans will gladly open the possibility of further investment in the club from our side.

Should they insist in their cloudy and finance-centered stewardship of the club, they shall see the profits decrease, and will have to look at numbers not so pretty at the next AGM, in front of displeased shareholders. In seeking ultimate profit, they shall reap losses.

We have the power to make them choose.

    Let the people sing!

I think he is savvy enough to know he's not going to a top team challenging for their league title in any of the big leagues. Which works for us as guys get to his sort of age and just want to enjoy their football, earn a good wage and win some silverware.

But see the more we * around and show * all ambition for Europe, the more guys like CCV will start to think - * it, let's go earn a little more now and aim to win in Europe. Which west ham can offer him.

Celtic are busy doing their business behind the scenes in the scouting corridors at Lennoxtown.

The Euros may well be in full swing but Hoops staff are still hard at work as they attempt to narrow down manager Brendan Rodgers' shortlist for summer signings before next season's efforts to retain the Premiership title as well as the revamped Champions League where they hope to upset the apple cart

Peter Vindahl Jensen, as we exclusively told you, remains the number one priority in terms of a goalkeeper but the club are still discussing a possible deal with Sparta Prague with no breakthrough yet found on that one

Midfielder Paulo Bernardo is one they also want to do but wages are reportedly behind the slow movement on that one, too. Record in Portugal claim the 22-year-old wants what he's been on at Benfica but Celts hope to continue to negotiate.

Flavius Daniliuc, the Salernitana defender, is a wanted man in Glasgow this summer and RB Salzburg have decided against triggering his option to keep the player on a permanent deal. That means Celtic could swoop to land the player. Sources have confirmed to Football Scotland that no official offer has arrived for the Austrian but he is one being monitored.

Bournemouth's Chris Mepham is also on the radar but, like Daniliuc, the Cherries are not yet in formal discussions with the Scottish champions and it remains just interest for now

Football Scotland can also reveal that the club are looking to find signings that come with a more established reputation this summer

Rodgers and his recruitment staff have been accused in recent times of bringing too many project players to Glasgow but sources have told Football Scotland that experienced players are being targeted ahead of untested youngsters.

That won't halt their traditional signing philosophy of buying cheap to sell high but the likes of a Daniliuc is still just 23-years-old with experience in Serie A and Ligue 1 under his belt.

Oh Hyeon-gyu remains in contact with Genk over a possible £4million exit

Question for those "happy clappers" (sorry it's a horrible term I know), how far in to the summer window before the "panty wetters" are allowed to panic?

5 days in to the window now, it's still early days we know, but the two obvious deals(idah and Bernardo) we should have got over the line are seemingly a long way from being remotely close to being done.
Two massive key areas needing addressed (GL and lb) are also seemingly far from even identifying the number one option for. Goalkeeper we are getting a new name every few days, left back is seemingly forgotten about again.

There is certainly still plenty of time to go, but with the next major event in the clubs summer calender due (players return from break to commence training), we seem absolutely nowhere near getting even a single new face in the door.

I would say somewhere around 15th July... by then we should have by a bare * minimum signed up a new GK and just to give huge leeway, one other key position that needs improving such as LB, CB, RW/CM (depending on status of O'Riley).

If by that date we've got nothing and then head into the tour against Man City and Chelsea with no new signings to parade around and milk for social media marketing, I can't imagine we will be seeing anything great happening

Still 11 days to go in this financial year but surely we will do some business before 30th June doesn't make sense to have such a high profit

It's beyond mental how much money we could make this year. The Champions League income is meant to be above £50m, BEFORE gate receipts.

We could be selling Matt O'Riley for £30m, AT LEAST.

We are due 30% of the profit for any bid on Frimpong, which looks like it could be £7m, AT LEAST.

We are looking to receive £10m for Oh, Johnston and Haksabanovic, AT LEAST.

That's nearly £100m. Absolutely crazy numbers. Not including the other deadwood that could be moved on for a decent amount of cash, the inevitable £32m from season tickets, the £8m for Champions League gate receipts. Not including the crazy money we get from sponsorships, the merchandising, the standard gate receipts. It's crazy numbers we could be making this season, a record year.

This is where the club need to make this count. We need to lay down a marker where we take this club to the next level. You can't have £70m in the bank, be on the verge of having revenue in the region of £150m in the new year and not take the risks to take the club to the next level. £40m in transfers, with 3/4 players in the £6/7m bracket, 3/4 players in the £3m/£5m bracket. We are essentially there. We need to make this count.

As for when folks allowed to panic?

Just to add, at the end of the day all of us want the best for Celtic, we might see different ways for that but all in all we want the club to be going from strength to strength and that's the important thing imo.

    Up the Hoops! :ynwacelti

We'll definitely do a fair bit of business this window in my opinion and probably more than some expect as well..

Hope the Turkish Media don't start becoming accurate and we are actually in for Livakovic. Horrendous attempt at a save there.

The attempt to save the first goal was like a pensioner falling over whilst pushing their zimmer frame. Awful technique.

3 or 4 most players in the 6 to 7 million has been max 2 per season

Id like to see us go up a level 10million plus just 1 every 2-3 years shows progress.
